Accord LX Auto - Phoenix area by borninabarn

I just purchased an Accord LX auto transmission at Right Honda in Scottsdale.

$18,235 Base Price
    165 Window Tint
  1,462 Tax
    348 Title
    290 Doc Fees
      5 Tire Tax
-----------------
 $20,505 OTD

Seems like prices are higher here in Phoenix than some other areas I'm reading about in this forum. Or maybe I didn't try hard enough. I solicited bids via the internet and just picked the lowest.

In any case, I'm happy with the car and the buying experience at Right Honda was almost perfect. The fleet manager was straight forward and courteous - absolutely no game playing. Spent less than an hour at the dealership.

Anyone have any idea what the title/registration/other fees will add to the cost of the car in New York State?

Price sounds good (too good, actually). The invoice for the LX w/auto is $19,034. Even if the dealer was going to get the full $600 incentive that is cheap. There is about $630 of holdback in the car, so

$19,034 - $600 - $630 = $17,804.

I don't know that the "MVP" fee is or why you should pay it - you also should not have to pay a "credit check fee". Get pre-approved through your bank or credit union and/or through an online place like Capitol1 auto finance. What could happen is they will jack up the rate on you in the F&I office. So watch them. If they give you a competitive rate on a simple iterest loan of the correct term - then sounds like a super deal.

BTW, Jesey Honda in Edison was running the LX autos for $17,500 - but it turns out you had to pay the doc fee ($198) and the destination fee on top of that.

greggdogg:

As I recall, there is no "Title" fee in NYS. Your title will just show up in the mail in a month or two after you register your vehicle. My NYS Registration Document indicates that my annual charge is $20.75 (plus a vanity plate fee that was my own choice). There are no other NYS fees, as long as you pay the sales tax rate for your county.

Any other "fees" would be of the dealer imposed variety. You should be able to talk them out of any... if they want your business.

Well Guys I went to a dealer today i got it for that price... $17,200 (including destination) + mvp $242 + doc fee $198 +tire tax $7.50 and i got the 2.9 APR....

But it was a mistake a sales person did to approve that price, and came to know that the price which she quoted was not realistic.

But since she had documented the figures, they had to honor it, The manager was kind enough to give me that price ... the only thing which i think i paid more is the credit fee which is $52 which i won't mind when i am getting such a deal.

The sales person that I went to today was a really good guy. He could have easily dishonored our quote since we had no deposit on the figures, no agreement, nothing. But today was a good experience.

Let me know if you need more info...

Got the Accord EX V6 w/o Nav today at Oakland Honda for $23,200 including destination charge. They were wiling to throw in the wheel lock and door guard. Fremont Honda gave me the lowest price, but they were not willing to throw in any extras. Dealer told me that Honda increased their price, that is the reason he quoted the higher price. Told me that if he can find one with the old price, I can have it. Didn't seems to be very proactive, so I went somewhere else.

The dealer here wants $22,500 for an 4DR EX-L 5AT with auto-dimming mirror.....Is that fair, or too much?

Lammachia Honda in Liverpool, NY. Real nice sales guy.

Honda City in Liverpool won't even quote me a price unless I "buy today." They're some serious scumbags.

Assistance needed for a PZEV based 05 Accord I4 Sedan w/ NAVI in MA. by xcel

Hi All:

I am asking for some assistance from our MA. members … I sold my Honda Insight and will be driving it out to MA. for the sale as well as picking up a PZEV based Accord EX-L I4 w/ Auto and NAVI 4-door. I received a solid quote from Chambers Honda in Boston for a Graphite Gray at $23,201 incl. dest. (not a bad price after a 5 minute phone call) but when the Internet sales guy checked his inventory, they had sold their last NAVI and graphite gray was the color they had earlier in the week. I checked the other 2 Chambers Honda dealerships inventory online as did Charlie (the Chamber’s Internet sales person helping me) w/ no NAVI’s of any color available at the other two either. What is up w/ the availability of I4’s w/ NAVI in MA. anyway?

So does anyone know where I can find a Graphite Gray (will settle for Silver although I would prefer not too) PZEV based Accord EX-L I4 w/ Auto and NAVI in MA. at a similar price? If not, I have about 100 phone calls to make into MA. on Monday and Tuesday to find one and I am not to sure I will find what I want at a price similar to what Chambers has offered me already? I would hate to have to make two trips out to MA. (one to deliver my Insight and the other to pick up a PZEV Accord) to finalize the deal.

Are there any strange fees I may not be aware of from the MA. dealerships? Here in IL. it is a std. $55.39 DOC fee, Tax, Title, and License or License Transfer. The TTL are state items so are not negotiable and that is about it.

Thanks in advance for any and all assistance.

      Wayne R. Gerdes
