It was reported on the 14th that Honda had a 73 day supply of Accords and the sales of the Accord were off 15% compared to last year. So they started a new up to $600 dealer incentive to help move cars. No problems selling "trucks" (SUVs and Vans included) just the Civic and Accord that are slow sellers.

How long will it last? At lease to the end of the month and maybe longer - it all just depends on how many extra sales this generates. The dealers around here have not really taken advantage of the promo money to offer deals in the local paper or anything special to move cars. I guess they either don't care to increase volume or don't want to be seen discounting cars. Lots of high volume dealers already had good prices, now they just have better ones.

Any idea how it's looking to get the 2.9% in mid-to-late April? I know it's probably too soon to tell, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

No telling. They have been doing that for while, and extended it for March and expanded it to include the hybrid (which is no longer selling as quick as they come in most places). If the extra $600 in dealer cash does not move enough cars then I would expect they will keep it - or even lower it.

In the Bay Area, try Autowest Honda in Fremont. You can request a quote from their internet site. I bought my 4cyl EX-L auto from them in January for 1,500 under invoice (21,196). I originally wanted the V6 EX, which they also offered at 1,500 under invoice in December and again in January. Anderson Honda in Palo Alto offered me the same car for only about 100 under invoice.

That appears to be a very good price but you need to tell us the actual price before fees and TTL to make in really meaningful. Thanks.

I am looking to lease an '05 Ex V6 w/o navi in black. I live in Philadelphia, PA.

I rec'vd an Internet offer of MSRP-$27,365 which includes $515 desitination. Price is $24,291. 36 month payment would be $355 for 12k.

Is this competitive? Could I--Should I do better?

Any help is appreciated!

I am just about the start looking for a Honda in the Bay Area. I live in Dublin. I have had it with Toyota's service...cocky service reps, you can't trust them at all...very rude. I experienced this at Dublin, Walnut Creek, and had some really bad experiences with another. The sales reps were simply cocky for no reason as if they didn't care...not thorough at all, and just jammed up the price on repairs. I just got my 11 year old camery repaired on an oil leak for $1200 and it's still leaking, now Ihave to bring it in and I don't have any confidence they give a damn about doing it right at this point. I like Toyota's better in the look of the cars but oh well...screw them. My wife has much better service with Honda, much like Toyota USED to be...very curtious, thorough, and trustworthy.

So, I am looking to buy in the East Bay, know nothing about buying a car just that I need to get the best price and not get ripped off.

I'll try Fremont as seen in the posts. Thinking about a demo as we have bought demos in the past from Toyota. I don't know what to be careful of, what questions to ask, etc. to protect myself...if you have any let me know, otherwise I have a lot of research to do. What's the game, how do these dealers suck you in?
