I am just about to pull the trigger on a '05 Accord Coupe EX V6 Navi Automatic. Local dealer is quoting $24925 ... which I think is fine ... but I would like to get the 100K Honda warranty, and they're quoting $1400. What price are other people paying?

Where are the discounts in Texas? I am looking for a 2005 Accord EX-L-5-Speed and cannot even get a quote of invoice. Anyone know of a dealer in Texas selling at or below invoice? Thanks, CUSAFR

Replying to: gouldn (Mar 20, 2005 1:38 am) You can buy HondaCare from any Honda dealer - and get a nice discount from a lot of them. This place (for example) is doing http://www.curryhondacare.com/ $1,075 for the $0 deductible 7yr,100k plan and they e-mail you a discount code to take $85 more off. There are other discount HondaCare dealers on the web, so shop around. Dennis |

| Sedan EX-L 4cyl offered 22.1 before TTL is a good deal? Seems some have gone below 21k of an EX-L so I think I'll still shop some | |

Well, I bought a silver/black '05 Accord EX-L Coupe V6 with Navi. Dealer experience was the fastest of all my car experiences. I got it for $24825, and and paid $1395 for the 7/100/$0 warranty. Originally they had quoted me $24925, but I asked for $100 of the warranty and they instead took it off the car price. I know I didn't do as well as possible ($1050) for the warranty, but I wanted to get this done and over with. No pressure to buy any mop-n-glow, etc. In and out in about 45 minutes. I got it at the Fremont CA dealer, and can provide details if needed. All the other bay area dealers were about a grand more. I love the car so far! (6 hours of ownership)

| I just requested Internet quotes from Brown's Honda City (Glen Burnie, MD) & Landmark Honda (Alexandria, VA), the latter through carsdirect.com. My Internet quotes, respectively, are $17,795 & $17550; both are below invoice, & do not include TTL, document, & destination. Not a bad starting point for your inevitable dealer negotiations! | |

Replying to: cusafr (Mar 20, 2005 5:29 am) I got a 2005 Accord Sedan 4 cyl EX-L automatic in Houston for $21,988 + TTL (this was 2 weeks ago). John Eagle Honda and Goodson Honda West had the best quotes and I ended up going with Goodson. Everything done on the internet, just picked up the car from the dealership. They honored everything we agreed to on the phone - in and out from the dealership within 60 minutes (included financing at 2.9%) I hope this helps.

I wanted to share my very good result from this weekend. I have learned the key to getting a good price is to avoid the dealership at all costs with the exception of checking out the car and test drive. I emailed twenty dealers in and around Los Angeles over the last 2 weeks and it created a feeding frenzy and they kept beating each other when I forwarded competitor emails around. It took some time and effort but was well worth it based on my final price. I just picked up a new Accord Sedan LX Auto for $17,654 including destination, and $19,345 out the door when you add tax (8.25%) and license at Kolbe Honda in Reseda, CA. Internet shopping is the way to go! Walked in with the email and I was out of there in 2 hours...very good service. They do try to sell you on the extended warranty and security system....but not hard. |
