I come up with about $305 using the invoice price you gave as the sale price. On the lease forum, residual and MF were recently posted as 54% and .00113 for the Accord EX.

05 Accord EX-L in NOVA by vapatriot

For those in D.C. area, I just got an Accord EX-L automatic for 22600 OTD at Bill Page in Falls Church. Salesman said there was a price increase recently but he gave me the quote before it took effect so he honored it. (I don't know if this is true or not...Hendrick and Koons came in only slightly higher, but these three gave the best price by far over the net AND with no haggling). Did it all over the net. Seems like a pretty good deal to me. Picking it up tonight. So far, it's all gone smoothly. Assuming no last minute snafus, I would recommend this dealer. No hassle and no pressure (so far!).

That's a great price for out-the-door. What is the sales tax there?
The MSRP for the Accord EX-L sedan automatic I4 is now $25115. They went up $100 approximately a month ago. The MSRP before the increase was $25,015. You can tell which vehicle you have by the MSRP.

in VA I believe it's 3%. Not sure what the MSRP was (picking up car tonight and have not seen the sticker) but I think I got the old price. the other 2 dealers who came closest were a little more than 100 higher, so I guess that was the new price.

"Here in Chicago, Grand and O’Hare Honda are both willing to compete for your $’s at many hundreds to a thousand under invoice on Accord’s. Probably less now since the $0 - $600 FTD has been announced. In Milwaukee, Wilde Honda of Waukesha will do the same"

I'm not sure where this is coming from, but it has not been my experience at all. O'Hare is quoting 22,300 + TTL for an 05 Accord EXL and claiming that this is hundreds below invoice. That is not a very good deal. Rather rude and condescending internet manager as well. Wilde has quoted me 21,900 for the same vehicle. Assuming factory invoice is 22,100 or thereabouts, that deal is only 200 below invoice. The best quote I've seen is Grand's advertised price of 21,600 + TTL. Just where are all the fantastic deals?

For your information the invoice on the EX-L is $22,651. You should not assume what the invoice is before criticizing a dealer's price. O'Hare is absolutely on target when they say that 22,300 is hundreds below invoice($351 to be exact).

Agreed... and this is below invoice, not MSRP.. Sounds like a fantastic deal to me...

Ok boys, don't get exited.

Fredvh, I criticized the internet manager for being rude and condescending (which he was), not the dealer for their price. I simply questioned where people are seeing the huge savings being published. And for your information, Carsdirect lists this vehicle at 300 less than O'Hare, and lists invoice at 21,935. Autobytel and others vary from 22,047 to 22,100 for published invoice. Are these sources unreliable? How do you define factory "invoice" price? Does it include destination? Does it vary from dealer to dealer? Do you think its right for O'Hare or anyone to call you a sucker for thinking you can buy a car under THEIR price, when you have quotes for $500 less? I am not an expert. I am only asking questions.

When did Wilde quote you $21900? It may have been before the March discount. I just purchased an 05 Accord EXL auto from Wilde for $21,316 + TTL and got the quote via the internet. They were very good with the whole deal.

Avoiding California Sales Tax by two42nite

I am looking to buy an EX V6 sedan w/o Nav. I live in Oregon but the CA dealers have better prices. I have received conflicting stories about whether I can avoid paying CA sales tax on the purchase. In Oregon there is no sales tax. I heard the law changed recently in CA. Does anyone know how I can avoid CA sales tax (without shipping the vehicle)?
