I'm interested in leasing either a 2005 Accord V6 with Navi or an Accord EX with Navi. I see where Honda's offering the base model Accord for $279/mo on a 42 mo. 12,000 mile lease. I was wondering what reasonable lease payments would be on the EX with Navi or V6 with Navi and would appreciate input from anyone who's recently leased one or anyone who has priced leases on these vehicles. Thanks! |

I did it at last! Got the car and know I got a really good deal. I worked hard on it and wanted to share it here for the benefit of other readers: MSRP: 27,015 I paid: 23,700 plus TTL I negotiated the following thrown in for free: trunk liner wheel locks mud guards I love, love, love the car and love the deal too. The voice recognition is just great, but a bit of a conversation breaker. I find myself always blurting out commands to the car!! We also held firm for the 1.9% financing--would have walked without it even though we did not have the 720 Beacon score. Don't remember who posted it, but my mantra was we deserve it for "heavy cake down." Love that saying. Good luck everyone and thanks for all the info. |

The price I'm paying, including destination and doc fee ($99) is: $24,628, which is $600 over invoice according to Edmunds. I have to add 6% MI sales tax, but I think this is a pretty fair price. I'm purchasing from Brighton Honda. They have been low pressure and straight forward. |

With the downward trend in Accord sales, maybe Honda will sweeten the deal with something in addition to 1.9% financing? http://www.hondanews.com/CatID1000?mid=2004120151841&mime=asc

I realized this week that I goofed when negotiating the best deal on a 2005 Honda Accord sedan. What I did was cross shop every area Honda dealer against each other. While that’s fine, I neglected to cross shop with area Toyota dealers as well. Consider that MSRP on a 2005 Camry LE-V6 with the side/curtain airbag option is $745 LESS than a 2005 Accord LX-V6 sedan (and that includes 15-inch alloy wheels on the Camry). There is also a Vehicle Stability Control option for $650 that the Accord doesn’t have. Similarly, a loaded Camry XLE-V6 has a sticker $1,270 LESS than an Accord EX-V6. I bet that I could have gotten a price quote on a Camry that was less than my best quote on a comparable Accord. I could have taken that lower Camry quote to my Honda dealer and told him; “Beat this price or I’ll go with the Toyota. I need a reason to skip an important safety feature like VSC that you don’t even offer.” I didn’t do that and I should have. That tactic might not work as well on 4-cylinder models because the Accord sedan’s sticker is anywhere from $175 to $580 cheaper than a comparably-equipped 4-cylinder Camry. Still, you won’t know until you price the competition. It’d be worth the time to send another dozen e-mails to get Toyota quotes you could work into your negotiation. |

We are looking for a 4-cyl 5-sp EX Accord sedan with cloth interior. We will compute a price like this: invoice + transportation + dealer profit. Then we will add on sales tax (3.1%) and $50 for TTL. How much should I allow for dealer profit? When we bought our Accord in 1998, we added about $250. What do you guys think? Thanks, Bob
