I saw where you can get up to three internet bids from cars.com for free. They also, advertise in the Fresno Bee. Does anyone have experience with them or know the pros and cons? Thanks

OUT THE DOOR--Readers should list this as the actual price NOT including Tax, Title & Tags, because this varies from state to state. OTD should include only the car price with the Doc or prep fee included. These fees may vary from $45 to $350 and can make or break a deal.

"Out the door", by definition, includes everything. People should report the following for comparison: MSRP and/or invoice, purchase price, doc/prep fee, rebate. Tax and registration are fixed by the region, not negotiable, and therefore, meaningless.

ac2005,

My experience at Spirit was great. Their walk-on car lot is small and they are currently under construction, but they have their inventory within a block or so. They apologized for the inconvenience, asked me what color car I was interested in and had one available to test drive within a few minutes. Throughout the process they were very nice and made me feel at ease. I never felt pressured or obligated to buy from them.

I got a very good quote from Herb Chambers on a 2005 EX V6 and was wondering if anyone has purchased a car from this dealership. It's a 2 hr drive for me so I want to make sure the dealership is reputable. I don't want waste my time if I take the drive. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

If you want to find some info on Herb Chambers quickly, I suggest using the advanced search feature (on the left side of the page). Search for "herb chambers," and make sure you click the "message text" option. We've had a lot of other Honda buyers report shopping experiences there.

Anyone Recently Lease Accord V6 w/ Navi? by CSF
Dec 03, 2004 (10:56 am)

I'm interested in leasing either a 2005 Accord V6 with Navi or an Accord EX with Navi. I see where Honda's offering the base model Accord for $279/mo on a 42 mo. 12,000 mile lease. I was wondering what reasonable lease payments would be on the EX with Navi or V6 with Navi and would appreciate input from anyone who's recently leased one or anyone who has priced leases on these vehicles.

Thanks!

2005 EX-L with Navi by odyssey1

I did it at last! Got the car and know I got a really good deal. I worked hard on it and wanted to share it here for the benefit of other readers:

MSRP: 27,015
I paid: 23,700 plus TTL
I negotiated the following thrown in for free:
trunk liner
wheel locks
mud guards

I love, love, love the car and love the deal too. The voice recognition is just great, but a bit of a conversation breaker. I find myself always blurting out commands to the car!! We also held firm for the 1.9% financing--would have walked without it even though we did not have the 720 Beacon score. Don't remember who posted it, but my mantra was we deserve it for "heavy cake down." Love that saying.

Good luck everyone and thanks for all the info.
