| A while ago, I posted my "deal", $17,900 for an LX sedan w/AT&Airbags from Family Honda in Orange County, CA. I was recently reviewing the paperwork on this car, and I noticed that this car came from Hoehn Honda in Carlsbad, California in San Diego county, where I live. Apparently, this car was shipped from Hoehn to Family Honda, specifically to sell to me (it was in my requested Graphite Pearl Color). The really funny thing about this deal was that I took the original test drive for this car, and was "sold" on this car at Hoehn Honda and I spent nearly an hour at the dealership attempting to buy this car. Hoehn Honda would not go below $19k, which they claimed to be invoice price, and they allowed me to walk from the deal. Now I find out that one week after I walked out of Hoehn, they shipped the car to an Orange County dealer 60 miles away specifically so that dealer could sell me the car for over $1k less!! How stupid is that! Hoehn and I could have both saved a lot of time and energy if they had just sold me the car at the price that I ultimately purchased the car for. | |

How many round of bids before the final one? I will try to use the same technique to buy a EX V6 SD in about half a month. Thanks to you and music boy for the info. accordlover

I just received two quotes from local dealers. One is $23,333 and includes cargo tray protection, mud flaps and locking lug nuts. The other quote was $24,334 and I haven't talk to them about if there is anything else to the deal. I've requested quotes from two other dealers in the area. For what it's worth, the dealer that quoted $23,333 said Honda is taking $1000 off this model and $500 off the four door version. Also said the quote was good through the July 4th for sure and they expect to hear Monday if it will be extended beyond that.

AccordLover: Take the best quote you have, even if it's not from the local dealer, and bring it to the local dealer. My best was from a dealer an hour and a half away, and my local dealer, 5 minutes from my office, came close to matching it. Raptor: $23,333? That's about a grand less than what I paid, and mine didn't have the cargo tray protection. Go for it. |
