| Does anyone know what the Honda incentives are for the month of August? Or where I can find out what the incentives are? The edmunds incentives area is not showing anything for the Accord. During July, there was a $1250 dealer incentive and 4.75% financing for 60 months. Did that continue into August? thanks. | |

It is unbelievable. 18200-1250(dealer incentive-250(quatity discount)-600(Holdback)-300(floor plan fee)=15800. Dealer is going to lose 500 for this car. Is there anything I miss on this calculation? |

| jmellenb Irish24 has a very good point about using other ads as a bargaining tool. Check the library for the past few weeks car ads in your area, you can copy them to bring in when negotiating. Also check Honda dealership websites of surrounding states for prices. Some might give you more information on incentives and available financing rates. I did all this when I went to negotiate. The dealership I purchased my car from originally offered $20,810 and went down to 17,800. I pointed out that other dealers were advertising for 16,995 and 17,199 - why would I buy at 17,800? The sales manager countered that those prices did not include destination. The ads didn't state this so I still felt I could purchase at the lower price. We finally settled on $16,700 including destination. This website had told me that the dealers were able to offer 4.75% - the dealer I was negotiating with offered me 8.84% after telling me I had great credit. I pointed out that Edmunds.com said 4.75 was available and even AAA was offering 4.99 so the dealer gave me the loan at 4.75. Use those handy calculators to figure out your monthly fee before going to dealer. Punch in the price you want less the down payment and using 4.75% as rate - this way you will have an idea what your monthly payment for different amounts may be. Just research and you can probably purchase whichever model you want at or near your price. Good Luck! | |

| Well folks. I am planning on buying a 2002 accord 4cyl auto value package. I called a few dealerships and they said that they do not have any dx's in stock but can order one. It seems to me that the value package is a better deal anyways. I live in atlanta and I think that I should be able to get one at or around 16,000 out the door. I am going to risk it and wait till november. I hope that when I am ready to buy, that they have 2002's still available. | |
| Thanks for the info jimmyx2. Yes, I would take the ads in for a bargaining tool. My point is the prices in the Kansas City area are higher than the prices I see people paying on this board. As you'll see in post #450, $17990 is the lowest we have for a SE & $16990 is the lowest for a LX auto. I was also hoping Honda would come back with the 2.9% for 3 yrs, but I haven't seen it yet. Thanks to all for your info / opinions on this board. | |
| I would try to convince them and use the ad. the ad. for LX 4AT is 15700. But I gues they would say that is only one model since every one in chicago has a small stock number on the ad. they are "genius" to bring you in! Then they said it is sold today and jerk up price about 700!! | |
