That was without NAV and yes, that was the out-the-door price. I'm really happy with the pricing, with the dealership, and especially with the vehicle!

Honda Accord EX in Charlotte, NC by mccullough1

We bought a Honda Accord EX 4 cyl w/ cloth for our daughter last week. I researched on Edmunds and Cars Direct to know what a good deal would be and simply called the internet managers at seven dealerships in Charlotte and surrounding areas. I got the best price and one I knew was a good deal from Crown Honda on Independence Blvd in Charlotte. They were $1000 lower than the other Charlotte dealer and lower than all the dealers in the smaller towns. Here's the breakdown:
Sales Price: $19,940 ($799 under invoice)
NC Tax 598
Title/License 55
Doc Fee 299

Total OTD $20,892
This pricing was good for what they had on their lot. Hopefully this will help some North Carolina shoppers. Also, these cars are poorly rated by the National Highway Safety Institute when they don't have the side curtain air bags but have a good crash test rating with the side bags.

zaitooni, obviously those would be unbelievable deals if you could get a dealer to match it. The prices on Intellichoice's site look suspect, though, because their invoice prices (and even MSRP) are way off. Not sure where their numbers are coming from...

title if financing? by retet

Hi folks,
I know this is probably a basic question for most folks, but this is our first car so I'm not sure-- when/if I buy the car using Honda's financing, do I receive the title to the car? Or do I only receive it after I've paid off the financing? I've talked with some friends and received conflicting answers, so I wanted to pose it to you all -- the experts -- for a definitive answer.
Thanks in advance for your input, I appreciate it!

It depends on what state you live in. Some states have a two-part title where you receive 1 part when you purchase the vehicle and the second part goes to the lien holder until you pay the car off, other states give you the title with a lien on it and the finance company will send you a lien release when the loan is paid off, and the other states send the title directly to the lien holder and do not receive anything.

buying car from a different state? by jackpo

Hi all,

I have a newbie question about buying a car from another state. I currently reside in Maryland due to work, but my permanent residence and my driver's license is from NYC and I would to get my car registered there.

If I buy a car in MD, do I have to pay sales tax to both MD AND NY? How does that all work? Do I end up having to basically pay double to everything?

It could vary by state ..... by anonymousposts

but if someone from another state buys a car here in GA they are not charged GA sales tax. They pay the doc fee but they must pay sales tax in the state the vehicle will be registered in. My advice is to check with your local DMV and maybe the DMV for the state/county you plan to buy the car in.
