danwashdc, is this actually legit? I haven't been to Hendrick but I did show your post to another dealer in the No. Va. area to see if they would match and they didn't even come close (about $1500 over what you paid OTD). In fact they dismissed your post as being a dealer sham posted to get people in the door. I'm not accusing anyone, I just want to get the best deal possible on a new car! Anyone else get a similarly great deal in the metro dc area?

Thanks for the help!

Well I answered my own question, Hendrick sent me their online quote and it was as danwashdc had stated in his post. I think the large discrepancy between this qoute and the other I got was the protection package. Do dealers usually try to include that in the price they quote you without asking if you want it? Whats the typical cost of the protection package? I'm not interested in getting it, I'm just wondering if that was the only discrepancy in the different quotes.

I am not a dealer. The price I stated in my post is correct. When I got to the dealer the sales rep took me to the car. Showed me the features and function, made a copy of my license and gave me the keys to test drive the car alone. I came back signed the papers and was out the door in 1.5 hrs or so. Hendrick was great! They offered the protection packages and stuff but when I refused they never mentioned it again. Everything that I had prenegotiated on the net was the price on the paper work when I signed on the dotted line.
I was told to use a wax with Teflon when I wax the car. Apparently waxes with Teflon are more expensive but will help reduce acid rain deposits on your car.
I highly recommend Hendrick. They gave the best quote up front and never pressured me into anything. Good luck!

Price Reductions for High Miles by h0udini

I finally found a white Coupe V6 6MT today, but it was a program/demo car a manager has been driving for the last 2 months or so. It had 1,300 miles on it.

Basically, the dealer wasn't willing to reduce the price because of the mileage. I wasn't willing to buy the car unless they sold it for well under invoice, being that new Accords are being bought in the San Antonio area for invoice and sometimes below.

In your opinion, how much of a discount should be given because of the mileage? I'm thinking it should be significant, as I know there are people who don't like to buy cars with even 40 miles or more on them.

I would avoid the demo and opt for a new one unless they sell it to you for a couple thousand or so below invoice. There is no telling how the car was treated during the 1,300 miles.

Just purchased a EX-V6 w/o NAV

MSRP - $26,400
Invoice - $24,244
Price after options - $23,642 (includes protection package and environmental package that were already installed)
OTD - $25,356.02

Didnt really want add ons but had no choice. ALthough the inventory listed numerous cars on the lot this was the only one we could find when we actually drove the lot. Did I get a good deal? Feedback is appreciated. Thanks.

This site has been very helpful. Thanks again to everyone here.

Some dealers have a secondary "holding" lot where they keep excess inventory.

After much emailing I got a pretty good deal, I was getting an EX till my wife saw an EXL. But here is a run down.

2004 Honda Accord EXL
4Cyl, 5spAT
MSRP = $24790
My Price = $21300 + $98 doc fee

I also wanted a 5yr/100k Honda Care warranty so we got it down to $785.00

It's a smoking deal.

Have fun!
