I bought from Burt-Kuni because it is more convenient to where I live and they had my preffered color (Graphite Pearl--but Burt-Kuni didn't know that Schomp did not have that color in stock). I made it clear that I wanted to buy from them but wouldn't pay a premium. So they matched Schomp and did not charge the dealer fee even though it was pre-printed on all their sales forms. They had to run some pretty elaborate credits in the system. Once they knew they were up against Schomp, they matched. Burt-Kuni does not have the "free" extended warranty like Schomp, but be aware that the Schomp extended warranty is for their service dept only and only covers the engine and drive train. I was able to purchase a bumper-to-bumper extended warranty,no deduc, and good at any Honda dealer at Burt-Kuni for $652 after I talked down the F&I guy from $1200 (note that this won't work early in a given month). It was a close call for me--coulda' done well at either dealer.

Similar question. I was told that the rate offers expire as of 5/3. Does anyone know if Monday will bring a new promo or incentive program? Trying to decide if I should "rush" and pull the trigger this weekend or wait and see what happens. I can afford to wait, but if there isn't going to be anything new (or that rates might go up), then I might take advantage of the 1.9/2.9 I was offered.

Just purchased 04 Accord EX,4dr,4cyl,AT,side curtain airbags, w/out nav from Elk Gorve Honda. I paid $19800 plus $45 doc fee x 7.75% sales tx which is $1538; therefore my OTD price is $21,383.
I sent dealer quote to 10-15 dealers & lowest bid receive from Lodi Honda for $19,900 & took that email to Elk Grove Honda & let them beat the price.
Hope this help

Bought same car recently 21,500 O.T.D.(Md.has 5% tax)
Included at my request:fog lights, auto.dimming rear view
mirror with compass,1/2 nose mask, splash guards, door edge
guards, pinstripe.Dealers have a 500% mark up on options,
mostly in labor. If I bought fog lights later dealer wants
$610. Other post had it right, pay half for option have
dealer install for free. This way the dealer's still making
100% on the option. Get $500 worth ,they still make 250
profit on sale of car. Get $'s or options off price. I
still paid $400 to much,in retrospect. Good luck.

danwashdc, is this actually legit? I haven't been to Hendrick but I did show your post to another dealer in the No. Va. area to see if they would match and they didn't even come close (about $1500 over what you paid OTD). In fact they dismissed your post as being a dealer sham posted to get people in the door. I'm not accusing anyone, I just want to get the best deal possible on a new car! Anyone else get a similarly great deal in the metro dc area?

Thanks for the help!

Well I answered my own question, Hendrick sent me their online quote and it was as danwashdc had stated in his post. I think the large discrepancy between this qoute and the other I got was the protection package. Do dealers usually try to include that in the price they quote you without asking if you want it? Whats the typical cost of the protection package? I'm not interested in getting it, I'm just wondering if that was the only discrepancy in the different quotes.

I am not a dealer. The price I stated in my post is correct. When I got to the dealer the sales rep took me to the car. Showed me the features and function, made a copy of my license and gave me the keys to test drive the car alone. I came back signed the papers and was out the door in 1.5 hrs or so. Hendrick was great! They offered the protection packages and stuff but when I refused they never mentioned it again. Everything that I had prenegotiated on the net was the price on the paper work when I signed on the dotted line.
I was told to use a wax with Teflon when I wax the car. Apparently waxes with Teflon are more expensive but will help reduce acid rain deposits on your car.
I highly recommend Hendrick. They gave the best quote up front and never pressured me into anything. Good luck!

Price Reductions for High Miles by h0udini

I finally found a white Coupe V6 6MT today, but it was a program/demo car a manager has been driving for the last 2 months or so. It had 1,300 miles on it.

Basically, the dealer wasn't willing to reduce the price because of the mileage. I wasn't willing to buy the car unless they sold it for well under invoice, being that new Accords are being bought in the San Antonio area for invoice and sometimes below.

In your opinion, how much of a discount should be given because of the mileage? I'm thinking it should be significant, as I know there are people who don't like to buy cars with even 40 miles or more on them.

I would avoid the demo and opt for a new one unless they sell it to you for a couple thousand or so below invoice. There is no telling how the car was treated during the 1,300 miles.
