2004 EX V6 w/o Navi in North Chicagoland by dep

Just purchased this car for $23,817 + TTL + $50 'doc fee'; well under Edmunds TMV of $25,000. All cash no trade.

Purchased several acces. for ~50% off list installed and an extended warr. for ~45% off list.

All in all a good deal and no BS from the sales person or his managers. Very willing to cut to the bottom line; clearly wanting to move inventory. I got some push back on the extended service contract pricing but held firm and did not agree to the car until it was reduced in price to where I wanted it.

Dealer quoted me via email a price on the following car:

2004 EX, 4 door, 4 cyl, AT, side curtain airbags, w/out nav.

MSRP: $23,440
Invoice: $21,143
My Price: $20,388
Out the Door Price: $22,109.39 (tax 7.25%)

He did say this included a holdback.

The Edmunds TMV price is $21,535.

Sound like a good deal? It looks like it is to me, but I would appreciate any feedback...

Thanks.

I'm ready to buy an accord ex leather, but don't know what the month of May will bring...Looks like sales in the US are down for Honda and the sedan is a shrinking market. Any one good at predicting the future? or is there a routine pattern as to what will happen in the next month? Or should I take advantage of what is out there this weekend and live with the invoice -500 and 2.9%

Down payment for special Honda financing? by slawenda

Does anyone know if a certain minimum down payment is required for special Honda financing, for example for its 2.9 or 3.9% APR on 4 or 5 year loans? How long are these "specials" supposedly going to last? I am asking only about buying / loans, not leases. Any details appreciated.

Do you know if the $792 holdback is standard for all Accords, or is it based on the Invoice price? I am looking at an 04, 4cyl Accord and the rep said the deal they are offering me includes the holdback.

Thanks in advance for your reply.

I signed on the dotted line for this deal today.

2004 Accord EX-V6 Silver, Blk Leather, No Nav

$22,895.00 - Car including destination
$ 695.00 - Va Tax
$ 27.84 - Locality Tax
$ 39.50 - title / license
$ 299.00 - processing fee

$23,956.79 - Total "Out the door" price

    Probably could have haggled with the processing fee but I'm happy with this deal.
This was by far the best car buying experience I have ever had in my life. The sales rep, customer care person and finance person were all outstanding. I felt absolutely no pressure whatsoever. I took the car for a drive by myself. I returned to the dealer signed the paper work and was out of there in 2 hrs.
     They asked if I would be interested in protection packages, extended warranties and pre-paid service plans but I declined and they never mentioned them again. I purchased my car from Hendrick Honda in Woodbridge, Va (DC Metro area suburb).
      Thanks to everyone on this site for sharing your experiences and knowledge about this car and the car buying process.

I saw your post, and I have also been shopping for an Accord EX in the Denver area. I wanted to ask you if Burt-Kuni Honda charged you a handling fee? I emailed them a couple of months ago, and their handling fee was around $200 or $300, I can't remember the exact amount right now. Their price quote was higher than Schomp Honda, plus Schomp doesn't charge a handling fee. The salesman who contacted me wasn't that knowledgeable either.
I'll probably end up buying from Schomp.
What made you decide to buy from Burt-Kuni?

figelwump> What are good sites to get pricing on extended warranties?

I have no personal experience with the site posted below. Soneone else here on Edmunds once posted it as a location to purchase a discounted Honda Extended Warranty. There are probably others to be found by doing a Google search.

Holdback on Accord is 3% of Base MSRP. See the following article on Edmunds for full explanation:
