I'll summarize here and then email you all of my notes and the price spreadsheet I built with the individual dealer bids and contact names and numbers when I have more time later today. In my opinion, these were the two best dealers:

Burt-Kuni Honda in the Tech Center on Arapahoe Road. This is where I bought, did all my test drives, etc. Very laid back and no-pressure but I was dealing with a new salesperson. Huge selection. They have several EX V6 Nav in stock including several that have been there a long time and they need to move.

Ralph-Schomp on Broadway in Littleton. If you are going to drive out here from Junction, I'd call them. Their schtick is that nobody is on commission, so they quote a price with all fees included. They promise no surprises. They will also hype their free extended warranty but that is good only if you service the vehicle there which obviously is no good for you. 2 other dealers in Denver had the same thing.

You will be in a vulnerable position because a dealer will know you don't want to drive back to Junction empty handed. So get several bids online or over the phone first. I'd call Schomp first--they'll give you a low price that you can use as a baseline for other dealers. Who knows--maybe with a low bid you can get your local dealer to match. I doubt the Junction dealer will want to lose a sale to Denver.

Worth the Wait? by aeonpurdue

I want to get an EX V6 Coupe, haven't quite decided on 6MT or 5AT, probably no NAV. I'm thinking of getting a 2005 right after they come out (at that month's end). I figure in the meantime I can save up a decent down payment to save some on my monthly payment. Plus, I'd rather have the '05 since it's technically a year newer. IYO, if I wait to get an '05, will I still be able to get the type of deal that people are posting to this board? I've got a carsdirect price of 24,133 ($200 under invoice) for an '04 in NW Indiana.

I doubt you will have any price advantage on buying 05 model. They won't give you any better deal for 05 model because they have an year to sell. But I say you should get same or better deal with 04 model. I don't think Honda dealer would give more significant saving than current quote though. If you can wait longer then you could save more on 04 model with Honda Clearance sale event.. not sure if this is August or September - I think it is September.

>If you are possibly inclined to purchase an extended waranty, then I would get your best Internet pricing on that and ask them to match it.

What are good sites to get pricing on extended warranties? Anyone have any thoughts on the extended warranties which are refunded at end of term if not used?

thanks

Thanks richards 38 and anonymousposts and any other posters who've helped answer our questions. We have one more dealer to check out (where we bought our Odyssey). Still trying to get a little more knocked off the price or some extras added in. Will let you know if it works out. Since we have time and don't really need the car until July (will buy now if we get a great price) we may wait until the summer as by then they'll want to deal more since the new '05's and the hyrid accord will be coming out shortly and they'll want to get rid of their '04's. The dealer also said the v.4's are selling faster and he hardly has any on his lot but he has plenty of v.6's since they aren't selling as fast. He's willing to work on the price for the 6 cyl. but not the 4 as it's more popular.

Thanks for your help everyone. If we buy soon we'll post.

V6 vs Navigation by jruff

I was pretty set on picking up an EX with V-6 and Navigation, but I may have to go with one or the other. I realize that this is strictly a personal decision based on my needs, but has anyone else faced a similar dilemma?

I'm asking the question here because (and I maybe mistaken), my experience has shown the EX 4cyl w/Nav to run about the same as the EX V6 w/o Nav in terms of costs.

Any experiences where a dealer may be willing to budge more on one model vs the others (EX V-6 w/Nav vs EX 4cyl w/Nav vs EX V-6 w/o Nav)?

Thanks in advance for your help!!!

we bought an ex-L with nav last month-- sedan-- 4 cylinder--

if given choice between 6 cylinder without nav or 4 cylinder with nav, for us it was better to do the 4 cylinder-- better gas mileage and plenty of get up and go-- and the navigation screen works nice with the XM radio as well.... plus the navigation has come in handy ...
