Toneloc77, refuse to pay more than $30 for the window etch, all dealers will remove window etch fees cause it cost them almost nothing to put on the car and obviously you can get a cheaper alarm installed for less, cut the price by 75% and that should be a fair price for the alarm. Check out www.carbuyingtips.com and read the scams section. Alex |

Please don't make 2 stupid mistakes. You already got taken for the paint protection scam. You must wax your every 3 months to keep your car in OPTIMAL condition depending on the wax. The best carnuba was will not last more than 3 months out in the exposed heat and even the best polymer must be redone every 6 months. There does not exsist anything in the world that can protect a car finish for even a year. I'm a Chemical Engineer by profession and work with chemicals. If I discovered something like this I would be a millionaire and you would see my face on a late night infomercial hawking this stuff. Any car will look decent for 3 years without any waxing and just basic washing but in those 3 years, kiss you nice clear coat good bye and what you have left soon after that is the crappy paint you see. Check out www.autopia.org forums for all the car care tips you would ever need. Alex |

| was $100 on my EX-V6. I balked about this & did not even want it, but the dealer was not budging on the etching. what they did for me was give me and extra $100 on my trade (107.50 if you factor in the sales tax effect) and I get 15% reduction on a portion of my insurance | |

The MSRP for the alarm (on Honda's website) is $195 only. Make sure you print out the "Option MSRP" from Honda's website and show it to them when they ask for $599 for an alarm. (It would be a different story if they are talking about *LoJack* which usually costs $600). My girlfriend got an Accord LX in August and had the alarm installed for $195. Sorry to those who pay $500 for it. Didn't mean to make you feel bad but to alert others. |

| There are lots of alarm schemes out there. Magic is a pretty poor brand can its equipment is really cheap, KARR is a little better but they gimmick it with wierd insurance policies, and the Honda one isn't an alarm. At $195 its a keyless entry feature for cars that don't have it, and the dealers will all charge hefty installation costs. These are "options" we can buy or deny. If you buy an option you are probably giving the dealer more profit then on the car. | |
| Saw the post about Autowest and Serramonte. They are not alone. If you get a great price like I did from San Leandro Honda by email it means they either added options or don't even have the car. I got a price of $17,288 on an LX accord from them, automatic, and so I called to make an appointment. I wanted to confirm a vin number before I drove from Salinas all the way up there - they didn't have one period. What good is a price if they don't have the car? Another dealer refused to match the price because they had the car I wanted and they know - the other dealers don't. | |
| Leeak - where in Washington did you end up getting that price? I am looking for the same car now, and no seems interested in dealing - as you indicated. | |
| Toneloc77: I just purchased a 2003 Accord EX V6 for $500 off invoice ($22,715) + $460 Dest + Tax + Tags + $249 Processing Fee + $69 Wheel Locks. 2.9% financing. Also, great deal on 1999 Accord EX V6 trade-in. The EX V6 comes with a great factory installed alarm. Why would the dealer put another alarm on it? | |
| I just bought(8/31) a 2003 Honda Accord EX 5 speed manual transmition w/o leather. Paid $20,000 included destination charge. Got the color I wanted and offered 2.9% financing. I think I got a good deal, did anyone got it for lower price? | |
| Johnfor2 - I live in Seattle and got my blue 03 accord EX v6 from Honda of Fife. I got pretty competitive prices from Honda of Renton, Discovery Honda, and Bob Hill Honda. Give all of them a shot also. I was disappointed to find myself paying about $1,000 more than most of the people here. When asking for $23,000, no dealer in the state of Washington was taking me seriously. I guess the demand for these fine cars here in the NW is higher than the rest of the country. Give Fife a call, talk to Chris (new car manager) and make him an offer he can't refuse. If you don't care for the XM radio (like me), then the 03 EX V6 is the cheapest EX V6 you'll find in a long time to come. Good Luck. | |
