bought a Silver, 2003 6Cyl AT, 4 dr, leather, EX w/ mudguards and wheel locks.....Cost=$23,686+TTL (about 10%) Total=$25.7k Then at finance they tried to push the ext.warranty of 7yrs/75k mile for $1600....we didn't bite....which I'm glad because the same plan with the same underwriter offers it online for $1000 (check http://www.hondaextendedwarranty.com/24.cfm) Good experience.....the wife is happy! Now I got to line up a spoiler for her to really be happy.....anyone got any advice where I can purchase for good price? thanks Brad in SoCal |

Bought a 2003 Accord LX with Auto from Stevens Creek Honda, with 2.9% financing. Got the color I wanted, and came very close to getting the price I had decided before entering the dealership. Had gr8 experince with the internet sales manager, but somehow got sucked into a couple of dealer options (Car alarm + Paint/Fabric Sealant protection) while closing the deal with the Finance guy, thinking that they are honda authorized options (as they were clubbed with the honda warranty etc). The cost breakdown was $17,400 (incl dest) + taxes, reg etc, but the 2 options cost an extra $1000. So total OTD was 20K. I guess I was not prepared for the options sales pitch, nor for it to come from the finance guy rather than the sales guy. But I guess I learnt my lesson ... probably paid around $500 more. Anyways, potential buyers beware of these options sales pitch by the finance guys, just before the final sigining of papers, when u think that u r done with the car buying ordeal ... especially watch out with this dealer in the bay area. Previously, I used to feel that the sales guys are scum after reading all the experiences, but I was really taken for a ride by a completely different kind of scum (the smooth finance guy, who are supposed to be paid better ... and hence r not expected to play this below the belt games) |

seems to me you're placing too much blame on the finance guy and not enough on you... even a novice basically knows not to go for paint/fabric sealant.... i can't comment on the alarm, but $1000 just for an alarm (and the paint sealant/fabric spray) is too much, agree? seems to me you fell in love with the car and got a bit too excited about it's purchase, prior to finalizing financing. it's just iron. am i nuts? |

| It was Honda America financing...a special rate they offer if you have a really good credit rating. We know a couple of people in the finance department of the dealership; that may have also helped. | |

No ... I am not blaming the finance guy completely. I am responsible for letting my guard down ... even though I did it cause I kind of trusted a finance guy, from someone who I didnt expect it. Anyways, the alarm system cost 459 + tax, while the protection stuff cost 450 + tax. I guess I fell for it, cause: 1. I was not prepared for this options pitch. 2. I thought they are honda options, as they were clubbed with Honda warranty. 3. I am planning to keep the car for atleast 7-8 yrs, so thought that it would be good to have the paint/fabric protection to have the new car look for atleast the majority of the time that I keep the car. I especially was convinced cause I keep the car in the sunlight for the entire day during work (M-F). 4. I thought that over a period of 7-8 yrs, I will surely recover a major part of the alarm system via Insurance premium savings, as also have some safety. 5. Finally, the finance guy made the options cost very appealing, by giving me almost 40% off (his figures) as last day of month deal. So overall, after doing some more investigation (incl endumds), I feel that I paid around $500 more than required. U r right, I didnt do enough research on the options part before buying the car (as I was never interested, and didnt think I would buy any ... I still dont understand how I did) ... I guess I concentrated too much on the car price research |

| Could someone who recently visited dealer comment on how many 03 Accord left on the lot? And how many new 04 Accord on the lot? Thanks. | |

When we purchased our '04 this past Saturday, there were several 2003 EX (4-cyl.) models with cloth seats available, but almost none with leather. We also saw quite a few LX models, as well as several of the EX-V6. But stocks seemed to be dwindling fast. Lots of '04s available and they'll keep coming for a while...they just got their first batch last week. |

In the bay area, it appears that only a couple of dealers had 2003 LX ... and most of them were either black, green or white. I was really surprised with the low inventory of this base model ... the 2 dealers who r supposed to give the best deals in the bay area (Autowest Fremont & Serramonte) didnt have any left. But, the some of the dealers did mention that they are going to get in the next couple of weeks some more 2003s ... perhaps they are getting them from other dealers in northern california suburbs? LX with side airbags are extremely few ... they are quoted approx 1k more than that without side airbags. I dont know about other models. |

I was offered the above mentioned car for 17,700. Price includes Fla. sales tax, dealer fees, & tag. The car has 13 miles on odometer. Seems like a fair deal. 2.3% financing available. Any feedback about this deal would be great! |

| I'm about to purchase a 2003 Accord Coupe EX/Leather/V6. I'm getting what I think is a good quote, invoice. $23,720(ish). When I ran through some numbers to take home to sleep on I noticed their prices for alarm and VIN etching on the windows. $599 & $299 respectively!!! The car alarm brand was Magic?? Has anyone else encountered this/ have this? Is this velcro patch thing for real? If anyone's come across these options and negotiated out of it please share your story. | |
