Jfaircloth, congrats on your purchase, it sounds nice. Question, Who provided the financing 3.44%, was it Honda finance corp, or the dealer bank or what....That is a very good rate, and I would like to check into further for my purchase, Thanks. Sir_col

Question on So Cal Dealers by ineedhelp

Yesterday I went to 6 dealers in the Orange County area because I thought it would be a good time to buy. However, they seemed to be unwilling to sell their cars. I aksed about the LX AT and they would not go any lower than their newspaper price of about $18,700. Furthermore, at some dealers they were only willing to move down a few hundred dollars. There was even a dealer that had an almsot $1000 markup on all Accords! I am wondering if this is because I live in a sellers market in Socal? Also, could it because they know that people would be more inclined to go shopping on holidays so they purposely are less flexible with their pricing?

How far are you from Conshohocken? If you're close enough, you should try conicelli Honda in Ridge Pike, Conshohocken.

My friend bought a brand new 2000 Accord from them a few years ago, and she was very satisfied with the service so far. I also did a test drive for the Accord today, and the salesman (David Guttridge) was very curteous, not pushy at all.

I have not decided what I should buy yet.. but if you have, then you might want to act quick. Tomorrow is the last day for the 2.9% financing deal, I believe.

Not postive of what the invoice is on a '03, but got my EX 4 AT for $20,400 + TL and feel I got a good deal.

Somebody in Oragne county commented on dealers not working on price, try the internet way. Lots of dealers will deliver your car to your home or office, at least the one I bought recently at does.

If the sales staff at where you shop does not want to sell you a car at a price you want to pay, shop around, it's not like Honda dealers are hard to find. After all it's your money.

bought a Silver, 2003 6Cyl AT, 4 dr, leather, EX w/ mudguards and wheel locks.....Cost=$23,686+TTL (about 10%)
Total=$25.7k
Then at finance they tried to push the ext.warranty of 7yrs/75k mile for $1600....we didn't bite....which I'm glad because the same plan with the same underwriter offers it online for $1000 (check http://www.hondaextendedwarranty.com/24.cfm)
 Good experience.....the wife is happy! Now I got to line up a spoiler for her to really be happy.....anyone got any advice where I can purchase for good price?

thanks

2003 Accord LX Auto - Buying experience by carnerd

Bought a 2003 Accord LX with Auto from Stevens Creek Honda, with 2.9% financing. Got the color I wanted, and came very close to getting the price I had decided before entering the dealership. Had gr8 experince with the internet sales manager, but somehow got sucked into a couple of dealer options (Car alarm + Paint/Fabric Sealant protection) while closing the deal with the Finance guy, thinking that they are honda authorized options (as they were clubbed with the honda warranty etc). The cost breakdown was $17,400 (incl dest) + taxes, reg etc, but the 2 options cost an extra $1000. So total OTD was 20K. I guess I was not prepared for the options sales pitch, nor for it to come from the finance guy rather than the sales guy. But I guess I learnt my lesson ... probably paid around $500 more. Anyways, potential buyers beware of these options sales pitch by the finance guys, just before the final sigining of papers, when u think that u r done with the car buying ordeal ... especially watch out with this dealer in the bay area. Previously, I used to feel that the sales guys are scum after reading all the experiences, but I was really taken for a ride by a completely different kind of scum (the smooth finance guy, who are supposed to be paid better ... and hence r not expected to play this below the belt games)

seems to me you're placing too much blame on the finance guy and not enough on you... even a novice basically knows not to go for paint/fabric sealant.... i can't comment on the alarm, but $1000 just for an alarm (and the paint sealant/fabric spray) is too much, agree?

seems to me you fell in love with the car and got a bit too excited about it's purchase, prior to finalizing financing. it's just iron. am i nuts?
