Sedan w/ cloth.....but read this thread from another post:

I bought an EX yesterday (21,080 + fees), in NJ. I think I'm happy with the deal from what I've seen.

I thought I was going to be able to finance using the current Honda deal (.9% or 2.9%, depending). It was the end of the day and I had asked the finance manager about and said that it didn't apply in our situation because we were buying for under invoice and I got a much worse rate (approx 5.8). I feel dumb now because I think that's shenanigans. Nothing I can see on the Honda site about the deal applies, and I have great credit.

I plan on going to the dealer tomorrow and figuring out if there's anything I can do to get my rate changed to what I think it should be.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Do I have any recourse or am I screwed because I'm gullible? Am I better off dealing with Honda Finance at this point?

Also.....I don't know what to make of this advertisement. It looks a lot like a 'Bait and Switch' so I called them and one of the salespeople wrote back in an e-mail that these 'ad cars are first come...first served' and that I would have to go there to buy one-no agreements over the telephone or internet. Check out this link:

It looks as if they are selling the EX, 5-speed for $18,988

Sorry Bud, you got screwed. I got an EX-L for $23,000 (includes dest.) plus tax and title and I got the .9% financing. The financing has nothing to do with the price of the car it's a totally separate issue.

That add is for a specific car (stock# xxxxx). Not likely that you'll find it if you go there.
Last month's add read "Every Accord EX auto sedan in stock $20,888" that included dest charges, but they would not honor Honda America finance plans on their advertised specials. I'm pretty certain they did honor that add price, however.
I used their add as a tool to buy my Accord EX closer to home for $21,500.

As someone else pointed out to you, the mileage is the same. The just changed the methods by how they calculate mileage. This was across the board with ALL makes and models.

As far as size, well, that is a matter of opinion. Not everyone will like changes. I hear this everytime a new model comes out but I don't hear it often. Most people think of changes as improvements.

Lastly, road noise. The 2008 Accords are quietier than the 2007's but they still need to work on this. Camrys are a bit quietier but they don't handle as well. It's all a matter of what is important to you.

$28500 "out the door"

I do not understand that way pf pricing. I got my '08 Polished Metal/black w/o Navi for $25,900 including destination fee from the dealership, plus tax. Tax, to my mind, is not part of the deal. The dealerhsip cannot do anything about that, and it vaies so from state to state and even within states from local to locale.

Invoice is like $25,400 plus the $600 destination charge. If you cant get the CAR for anything less than $26,000 I think you are doing ok.

Where in NY - I got my '08 V6 EXL Sedan from Lia Honda in Albany - Rex Varughese is the Internet sales guy I worked with. They were very easy to work with - got mine for $25,950 incl $600 destination fee, plus tax.

Sometimes in these "sweet" financing deals the dealer participates in the 'buy - down" of the rate. Accordingly, they will not do it for deals where their margins are otherwise already slim, like when you get the car below invoice. That is a possibility and not illegal - you have to read the fine print.

"The financing has nothing to do with the price of the car it's a totally separate issue."

Not necessarily true - if the promo is at participating dealers, then they are participating in a rate buy down cutting into their up front profit, so they WOULD not probably offier it on a below invoice deal.

Looking for dealer - EXL - 4 door, 4 cyl, auto by larryallen707

I am looking for a 2008 4 door, 4 cyl, auto, EXL. I am in the Sacramento area. My lowest offer thus far is $23,500 + standard fees. Anybody know of a dealer in the general area that can get me that last $500 so I can meet the deals they are getting in SoCal? It's only $500 so obviously not flying to LA to get the car. Maybe something in the east Bay Area?
