I am interested in buying or leasing a 2008 Accord Coupe EX or EX-L (5-spd manual). I realize these are in short supply, but I am not in a hurry to buy and am willing to wait 6-8 weeks or longer for one to be located, if necessary. Do you think it would be a realistic expectation to try to shoot for invoice on this vehicle? I would of course pay the destination charges + TTL and acquisition fee (if leasing). Would most dealerships be willing to make this sort of arrangement? I am willing to put down a deposit while they locate the car, and the dealer would be getting the 3% holdback from Honda without having to pay any floor fees for the car sitting on their lot. They would also be profiting from the doc fee (I am in AZ where there is no cap on doc fees and they can often be $369 or more). In addition, I am trading in a 2005 Acura RSX in great condition with low miles, which would be another source of potential profit for the dealer. I’m just wondering if my line of thinking is way off, since the Accord Coupes are a lot less abundant than the Sedans and tend to sell pretty quickly. Everyone else feel free to chime in as well. I’d like to hear if anyone (especially in AZ) has been able to purchase a coupe at or below invoice.

| Bought a new 2008 Honda Accord LX automatic with 5 year 60,000 miles oil changes and 5 year Unlimited Mileage tire hazard warranty, rotaions and balances for $20,800 OTD. Price includes destination, tax, and all fees. Did I get a good deal? Feedback appreciated. | |

Replying to: tamoshanter (Apr 05, 2008 5:31 pm) my daughter (who is very directionally challenged) found the NAVI system easy to work and very helpful. i also strongly recommend it for parental relief, along with the Bluetooth; knowing that she's on the cell phone while she drives, using this is MUCH safer. with it integrated into the system, when i call her and her stereo (which she also loves) is blasting, the phone will still pick up and she can't use the excuse that she didn't hear the phone ringing when driving |

I am interested in buying a 2008 Accord EX-L Auto sometime in the May/June timeframe. It seems that most people here are getting at LEAST the invoice price on this model if not lower, but something that's less obvious is the time (in the month) at which everyone started getting quotes from various dealerships. From your guys' experience, does buying at the end of the month really make an extreme difference? Would it make the difference between being able to get a car under invoice vs over? What if the dealership has already met monthly quota, would this plan backfire then? Thanks!
