#18566 of 29555 2006 honda accord AC - strange!
by felix_car

I4 automatic, LX, base options.
There are several options for the air: MAC AC, Body, Body&Feet, Feet, Feet&
Windshield, Windshield.
The manual says when in Feet&Windshield or Windshield, the AC is
automatically on, even thought the AC light is off, for anti-foggy purpose.
The manual also says that when it switches from Feet&Windshield or
Windshield to Feet, the AC is still on. This sounds very strange/stupid.
The manual doesn't say for the Body, and Body&Feet. That means only Feet
button has this stupid issue? In other words, when switching from
Windshield or Windshield/Feet to Body or Body/Feet, the AC will
automatically change to Off?
Any idea/suggestion?
thanks.

I could not agree more. For example, I just purchased a 2008 Accord Sedan EX (Automatic) for $22,400 plus tax title and license in Upstate NY.
MSRP: 24,495
Edmunds Invoice: 22,255
Therefore, I paid $145 over invoice. This is all that is relevant for most people looking to get the best price.

donegal -
You are correct, people have different personal preferences for how they look at the numbers when buying a new car (OTD, payment, +/- invoice, ect.)
However, for purposes of posting in this forum, OTD figures are useless!
If you prefer to shop/negotiate a new car purchase using OTD numbers, by all means, go right ahead. Just don't bother posting them in this forum.
The purpose of this forum is to help consumers determine what other people are paying for HONDA ACCORDS, not what they are paying for sales tax, license plate/tag fees, or any other misc. tax/fee, which is what OTD pricing gives you.
It is very difficult, and often time impossible, to decipher what they paid for the ACTUAL car when only OTD numbers are posted.

"That brings up another issue that was confusing, whether invoice price included destination charges or not. Reading this forum, it seemed there were different opinions on this. Same with advertising fees. Also, the invoice for the LX-P on edmunds was $20,085, but the dealer claimed was 20,711."
Invoice price is just that, what the dealer is purportedly charged for the vehicle by the manufacturer. The Destination (shipping) charge is added to the invoice price to determine what the basic cost to the dealer is. It's the same as buying an item from a shopping website. You pay the posted price for the item PLUS shipping & handling.
$20,711 - $20,085 is $626, just $9 less than the $635 Destination charge (I can't explain the slight discrepancy). Therefore the dealer told you his total invoice cost, including the destination charge. It's just semantics.

There are more than one way to "skin a cat"... everyone has an opinion on things. Whether OTD or itemization is a preference. You like others before you have failed to read and comprehend my previous posts about this subject.
Just let people decide on which way is best.
Just remember EVERYONE pays OTD.

What would be an acceptable odometer mileage on a new car. Less than 50miles, Less than 100miles?

some people just dont get it.....OTD means nothing to no one here, and if you get turned on by that, just keep it to yourself. I would suggest as the mod did, that anyone who continues to post OTD nonsense, posts should be deleted.

I might be off $9 since it was from memory.
It looks like I paid about $200 under invoice. Even though it's not the true dealer cost, I still think I got a good deal. Thanks

Have you read my previous posts concerning this japs? even a person like you with that derogatory name should have been able to comprehend it. If you do not like my OTD posts just ignore them... plain and simple.... comprehend?

The lowest possible... some states may have a law that if the "new" car has over an x amount of miles it can no longer be considered new. Get a car with the lowest miles if you are paying for it you deserve the lowest miles.
