I appreciate your input...
But, this REALLY isn't something to where I think I'm "Getting out of debt" by doing this. It's obvious I'm going into "More Debt" because I'm buying, or financing, a new car.
When I talk about taking care of some credit cards, that satisfies me enough to know that 1 credit card will be paid off (which isn't that much, Best Buy Card) and lower the balance on another credit card which I've been paying on for YEARS! And at the same time, I'm happy knowing that some of that money, even though a little, will be going towards something I've wanted and I know I will ENJOY for the next 5 years and even longer.
Practical? No, but I see it as paying for something I'll enjoy for years to come, while lowering a balance of a credit card and paying off another.
Your way, is probably the smartest way to do it, but not everyone is gonna live like that.
I'm sure when I get married and have a family, I'll be more practical, and buy only used, while holding on to cars till they die out, but I'm single, have worked hard the past few years, and held to the car I have now for 9 years. I'm ready to reward myself. Even if it means living TIGHT for a couple of years.
And now, at the end of typing all of this, I just now realized this ISN'T a reply to what I posted last night. Here is what I've done:

See if you can get it below invoice.

What interior are you getting with the polished metal? i ordered one almost a month ago from VIP Honda and still don't have an ETA. Same EX-L sedan V6 with NAV. I'm asking for the Grey leather interior. I'd take their estimate of "the end of the week" with a grain of salt...

Great advice on credit cards...anyone who carries a balance on a credit card might as well take dollar bills and throw them out the window.
Then think about how much more expensive whatever it is you bought costs, after adding up all the interest every month.
I'm old enough to remember being able to deduct credit card interest from my taxes...since that went away, I've never run up a dime in interest.
Never charge what you can't pay off every month.
And try to live below your means.
As for buying only used cars, yes, it's a wiser move financially. But the charge (no pun intended) you get from that new car may be worth it!

make a deposit of $5000 on a credit card, and you will get 1% rebate, or $50.
use other credit card with 0% APR to carry the balance, but u may pay $75 for the processing fee. Make sure u can come up the total o/s loan amount in a year.
This is the best way to finance ur vehicle with $25($75 less $50 in rebate) interest for upto the OTD

I am waiting for the same Accord. An '08 EX-L V6/navi in PMM with gray interior. At first, I thought they could get one via an online trade or dealer trade within a week or two. However, they had all been spoken for. So now I am waiting until mid-November when my dealer is scheduled to get one of their own. It will end up being a five week wait. I guess I'm not in a big hurry though. I just wish I could renegotiate the price. $300 above invoice was a good price at the time, now it's just an "ok" price. However, I really like the car, which is the most important thing.

What dealer did you go to? I live in Rockville and am looking at the '08 EX-L V-6 w/ Navi.
Anyone in the Baltimore/DC area purchased one? If so, what was the breakdown on you car?

I'm also trying to get a coupe….supply is beginning to loosen...have contacted 13 dealers (email and phone only) in North Texas and one in Houston accidentally. Houston dealer was totally inflexible and not longer in my list. You must be patient!!!
Don’t let your other debt(s) cloud the issue of buying your new vehicle at a reasonable price…..only you can decide what is reasonable. My target is 250 over invoice, no docs, no add ons, no bull…..as T/G and Christmas approach pricing will continue to soften…..have several offering 1000 off MSRP now but I won’t buy until I get my price…
IMHO it is foolish to overpay for ANY vehicle….it’s a depreciating asset unless you plan on keeping it for 25 years as a collector…. They will come around if you give it time for the supply/demand rules to equalize
