Price for 2007 Accord SE by rayman6

I am looking to buy 2007 Accord SE 4cyl AT this weekend. The best price that I have received is around $18,500 + destination and taxes. Is this a good price? I live in NJ. Also, is there any point in waiting for the Columbus day weekend, just in case there are some extra sales or something?

Ray, have you investigated "CarMax?" I was there recently, and they have some very low (6K) mileage 07 Accords. If you want new, I think you should make your move NOW. If there are any "Columbus Day" sales, they will promote 08's.

Anxiously awaiting delivery of my 08.

Hey George, I am in the same boat - Ordered my 08 I4 EXL Navi MT today, Pearl Blue.
26800, and i'll work on the accessories I want (Rear Wing Spoiler and Camera) when it comes in as they have to be installed by the dealer anyway.

Can't wait... but i have to until Nov!

Is that a coup, Vital?
Pearl Blue is hot, what color interior did you order?

Later,
George

I ordered a Sedan, though the coupe looks awesome it's not practical (for me anyway) as i'm always hauling things in my back seats... computers, or other equipment.

It's in Royal Blue Pearl (though I like the Belize Blue Pearl better) it's only available in the coupe.

I put down a $200 deposit via credit card - no big deal.

I'm excited!

well either way, you're getting a great car. Keep in mind depreciation vs. incentive. Are the incentives really worth having a rapidly depreciated vehicle on 1/1/08?

The depreciation will be no big deal compared to what it normally is. It's not as if he is paying MSRP for a 2007 or that the 2007 is going to be "avoided" as a used car several years down the road.

I just priced used 2002 and 2003 Accord LX automatics on KBB.com with the same mileage, 70,000 (there is no reason for mileage to be any different for the two model years in this scenario) and good condition and there was only $270 difference in trade in value between the two body styles. You should be able to get a new 2007 discounted several times that difference.

You should be able to get a 2007 today for a MUCH larger price difference compared to a 2008 than any resale difference will be.
So, no, you will not make up the extra cost of the 2008 with better resale value unless you overpay for the 2007.
