$13K for Accord - BUT how do I get Air Conditioning? by bostonoriole

Dealers in this area are advertising around 13K for Honda DX 5 SPD with no air conditioning. A salesman told me that I could by the car for $13K and then get a new A/C installed for $1200. Do you think that is possible?

Do dealer installed A/C units have any concerns for quality?

Do you think this is a good deal?

I wouldn't worry about the dealer installing the a/c unit. 10 years ago that's how most Honda products were. I had a 92 Integra that did not come standard with A/C so the dealer had to install it. Never had a problem in the 7 years I owned the car.

I plan to purchase the 2003 Accord LX-G 4cyl automatic within the next couple of days. The best price I have seen in Montreal is $25570 (prep. of $850 included). Is this a good deal?

Thanks and in advance and good luck in your own car purchases!

RE: MA Accord EX auto quote by kudi

The 19255 quote in the Bay area looks pretty strong. Unless you specifically find ads for it, you may have to work a bit to get the price down that low in MA. For comparison, here's a Boston dealer's site that lists internet prices (http://www.hondacarsofboston.com/offer.asp) for all types of Hondas (acccords, civics...). Note that prices include shipping. It basically says that you can get a no haggle EX auto for 20,200 + shipping. Most of the prices range for various models run from 400 under (LX Auto) to 400 over (EX v6 Nav) invoice. The web site also says that they'll match lower prices. In short, the listed price on this site is the MAXIMUM you should pay, wherever you go (Herb Chambers, Boch, Bernardi...). And if you don't mind haggling, you should be able to get better deals.

I know this is off topic, but has anyone else been experiencing the larger fonts Edmunds has been using on it's message boards today. It's a little disconcerting to me.

This post refers to #1702 03 EX-V6 for $22,995 in St. Louis by bobfeld. In post # 1710 I fat fingered and typed $23--- instead of $22--- oops would not have been that great of deal. Still waiting for follow up on $22,995 deal, which St. Louis Dealer?

I paid $18712 ($250 over invoice) for my 4-door LX Auto in mid-December at Open Road Honda in Edison. I think the prices should be a bit less now. Great car, good dealership. No BS, etching, mop-n-glow, etc. Straight easy deal. Dealt with the internet manager.

Friday ad shows above with "15 units at this price, no additional accessories, etc." Almost certainly excludes destination. Overproduction/low-demand ?

This is what I was quoted and placed an order for the same in NJ. Also the only additional charges are destination 460 and Tax, title plus doc fee of 138$. Did speak to other dealers, some of them quoted about 23K plus destination etc...if anyone knows of a dealer having Silver EX V6 please let me know....so that I can have my car earlier....Please dont ever go to Planet Honda, those guys are pure cheats, They first refused to negotiate on price and when i walked out, they catch me while i am driving out, call me back in and then gree to sell the car for my requested price..then make me fill out all the paper work and charge money on my card and then say they just sold the car and now i have to run behind them to get my money back.. its been a week and i am still trying to get money...
