Hey- thank you to this forum, I'm not in Houston but any Phoenix, AZ buyers check out Tempe Honda. I've been trying to close a deal on a 2007 Accord EX-L V6/ no navi for more than 2 months at a price I was told by a very local Mesa dealership as being impossible. Thanx to finding your info posted here yesterday a.m., I found out I was not out to lunch and walked in to the Tempe Dealership yesterday afternoon and purchased my black /ivory Accord for $23,500 which inc. destination fee and some kind of protection coating/mats package cost. They were several thousands cheaper than the Mesa Dealership's supposedly discounted primo price offering. I am pleased...... J.

This means good things for those who pay cash for a car. I'll wait until the week between Christmas and New Year's with checkbook, or cashier's check in hand. I've bought a number of cars during this time period, and it's the absolute best time to negotiate a good deal. Having been a new car salesman at one time, there is practically no foot traffic in the showroom during this period - everyone blew their budget on Christmas gifts!

Could someone please tell me a good price for a [2007 Accord EX-L V6 with Nav]? I am getting a quote for $25,000 including destination plus TTL & accessories in the Dallas-Fort Worth Area. I would like to get the car within the next day or two.

Thanks!

What are you talking about???

I can't believe you were in the business!

The week between Christmas and New Year's is BY FAR, the busiest week of the year!! NOBODY takes a day off that week! This will be my 12th year in the business and that is a week we never stop running!

Anybody in the business knows this!

"No idea on pricing at this point.

That would be one oddball car that few dealers would take a chance on ordering. You might want to think about the desirability of such a car when you go to sell it down the road.

A five speed NAVI is almost saleproof!"

I'd be leasing, and i don't think it's that off the wall, i mean Honda does make the car don't they? This is why i'm attracted to the Accord because it's the only non-luxury car I can get with Leather, Navi, and a 5speed. The only other one is the Altima but it's only in the V6 and then it's like 32K.

My brother has an 06 in this configuration, course he had to order it and it took 3 months to come in.

Do you think it would be a good idea to contact a dealer now and get them to order it? Or should i wait until it officially comes out so i can get pricing as i'd want to negotiate the price before i agreed to order the car.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is nothing WRONG with a 5 speed NAVI Accord but they sure don't sell very well. I am surprised they even offer these but I suppose they will be back in 2008?

Yeah, they are pretty "off the wall" but, if you're leasing one you don't have to worry about it. Jsut walk away from it when the lease ends.

I would contact your local dealer and let them know you want one of these. I assume they will continue to offer them in 2008. That dealer will probably want a deposit and hope like heck you don't back out of the deal and leave them stuck with it.

The dealer, at that point can add it to their next allocation and you will, no doubt have to wait until enough orders accumulate for Honda to build a batch. Hopefully you will pick a popular color.

You can have your dealer pull a "locate". That way they will be able to see if another store has one of these incoming. It is possible with the other stores permission to get it diverted to another store.

The store's biggest fear would be that you would change your mind and leave them sitting on it so make sure they know you are totally serious.

That might be a WestCoast thing. Over the years I've been in a number of dealerships the week after Christmas (all typically east coast), and they can be very dead....particularly if it's cold/rainy/snowy.

Well, it gets cold, wet and sometimes snowy here too and that is still ALWAYS, the busiest week of the year.

Other places may vary I suppose?

I would think if you truly sell Hondas you would at the very least know what trim levels of Accords are being sold in 2008.

I've been contacting some dealers this week to begin talks on a 2008 model and sometimes its amazing how little they know about the release.
