What was the saleman's name at breakaway? That appears to be a good price for the V6 ($100 under invoice??)! Have you talked to him about ordering a car to your specifications? I am interested in that car that was quoted to you but without the roof visor. I have talked with 'Chuck' the new car sales manager at Hendrick. He appears to be a helpful person. What other cars are you looking at? I am also looking at the Passat at Steve White and the Altima 3.5 at CarMax and The Mazda 6 at John Finger. I am leaning towards the Accord. Thanks |

if you go to honda site and choose "build your car" link you can find out that MSRP prices for the accessories are: Door-Edge Guard cost $64 (what exactly is it by the way?) Moonroof visor cost about $108 splashguards $89 Fenderwell Trim $75.00 which totals to $336 and change so if you add this to 25200 quotes, result you get is pretty close to 25500 I believe wheel locks should be free. They are not listed as "dealer installed accessories" on honda website... I was quoted $500 and $600 for rear wing spoiler by two different dealerships so it's unlikely you can get it for free may be you can get a it chaper... I also called a parts dept to get a separate price for a wing spoiler & installation and got a quote for $540 for spoiler and $80 labor. try to do the same... call parts dept see how much they would chage if you just want to install the spoiler, then ask dealer how much they want for the spoiler and push them to cut price for $100 or $200. Let me know if you get a spoiler and how much it costs. I want to get one for my self. |

I never will pay MSRP for a car! That is like giving your money away. Actually, I plan to buy my cars under invoice since buying at invoice the dealers still make a profit with dealer holdbacks and volume discounts to the dealer from manufacturer. SO I offer invoice minus dealer holdbacks and volume discounts. Does this make sense? What is the mosr under invoice someone has been oferred? What is the dealer and salesman? Thanks I am looking for an auto V6 sedan. Thanks |

Just received a quote for $23,800 excluding taxes, title, and destination for a 03 Auto V6 sedan with mud guards, visor, and pin stripe. Still a little high for me: Price of Options ~ $250 Car Invoice ~ $23200 Total ~ 23450 I will counter offer $23,000. Options cost the dealer pennies! |

Some of you guys are getting brutal here... and mainly a bit distracted. I'd say that those above seeking invoice or under on the V6, assuming it's the EX, should never pay, or be willling to even consider mudguards, etc., as options, or things that even exist on your car. When your talking price, and they mention them, tell them to take them off, not count them in price, or stop mentioning them. Take the invoice price, add destination, and bargain down assuming that either mudguards are included in that price, or that you won't have them. If your getting an EX-V6, I wouldn't pay above 23,600 for it, before adding spoiler costs, etc. For me, the only extra costs above 23,600 to pay would be tax, and accessories that YOU choose. So Sschiff, 23,800 with destination to be added is a BAD deal. Ok, all that was not to be mean, just trying to keep you guys focused on the prize. AND, as for gettting something in writing, why the heck to you think they won't do it if your planning to take it somewhere else. Get their offer once, say your stated goal price, if they won't do it, go to another dealer, or accept their offer. Don't take a price, go here, then there, then back to the source. Determine your precieved "fair value" and show serious will and ability to buy if offered it. For my navi, again, you can see my earlier post of how I communicated to dealers, I stated the price I wanted and the dealer who came the closest got the sale the same day. Once you agree, that you like their price and plan to buy from them at that price... then ask (and they will do it) for everything to be put on paper. Every expense. If the number has changed at all, walk away and don't look back, don't even let them try to appologize, because it wasn't an accident, and tell others of who played games and who didn't. As for the EX-V6 with NAVI, excluding spoilers, etc., I wouldn't go above 26,000, unless you want it now, and can get that without a single game being played (I would really expect it to sell higher to most people, but if you go straight to a sales manager and are serious, and at a good time I'd think 25,600 - 25,900 would be a good deal and worth not haggaling further). |
