Hum !!!! I bought two new Hondas in Peoria, last one a 2006
Civic LX Coupe bought March 1st 2006, got a good deal, GREAT salesperson to deal with, service department has been GREAT with our first purchase 2000 Civic, think you must be the acception rather than the rule. Couldn't be a happier customer.

As you'll see only a few posts prior, I got the EX V6 w/ Navigation for $26500. I don't think you should pay this same price for the 4cyl version despite others thinking it's a good price. My research says you should offer $25K for the car plus DMV fees etc.. and stick to that. That's about $100 over invoice and they get the 3% holdback of MSRP from Honda (over $800). That would be a GREAT (but fair and competitive) price and you'll enjoy the car even more! I would. Good luck!

'98 EX-L 4Cyl by rbell2

I have a '98 Accord EX-L 4 Cyl in very good condition with 122,000 miles on it. All maintenance is up to date, tires good, no physical damage, no tears in the interior, everything works, etc. What should I realistically get for this car if I try to sell it myself? I am starting to get "the itch" to buy a new Accord. Of course, everytime I clean my old one up, it looks so good and drives so well, I always back off for a while.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

selling it yourself, about $5k if its a stick, and closer to $6k if its an automatic. I would "ask" $5495 or $6495, respectively.

I'm now looking at an 06 Accord LX- 4cyl automatic in Silver.

I'm getting a price of 19,098 before tax and tags. Delivery and other fees are included.

How does that sound to everyone?

It's depend on where you live, but I think you still have room to go down more. I bought my 06 Accord SE cheaper than that at the end of Febuary.

The price of $26500 is the overall cost (incl taxes, dmv etc).. The offer price of the car from the dealer alone is $24803. Wanted to have your comments on the quote that I received to see if there is any room for negotiation (or) this is the best offer to expect on a EX-L w/navigation. Thanks again for your comments.

i personally would look into what you could get an SE for. for less than $700 difference (invoice) you upgrade from 15" to 16" alloys, rear drums to 4W disc brakes with elec. brake distribution, single disc CD to 6 disc changer (plus more upscale trim if that's important). that's a lot of value for very little extra compared to the LX.

Does this price include destination? If it doesn't, I think that you can do better closer to invoice.

The price does include destination.

Here's the breakdown.
06 LX 4 door silve with automatic.
18453 car
599 destination (they're calling it dealer fee and adding 50 bucks)
   40 tag agency fee
    6.50 battery/tire

19098.50

+ tax and $225 for new tags. ">

Edmunds shows invoice to be 19298 with destination.
