2006 Accord EX-L internet quotes by agdn

Do dealerships honor their own internet quotes on car?

I got an internet offer of 22,288 (inc desination)for a 2006 honda accord EX-L from the same dealer Cambridge Honda in MA from whom I had gotten a price of 22,708 including destination fees, and put down a deposit. I got the lower offer the next day in my email acct.

When I called dealer re:the internet offer, they were very unprofessional and rude and would not honor the internet quote....has this happened to anyone else and how did you deal with it? needless to say the order was cancelled.

i plan on following thru to attorney general, consumer affairs, etc etc any suggestions?
thx

I am curious how you/they handle this... Just my 2 cents - the paperwork should tell the story...meaning that if the VIN number of the car you have now matches the title/registration paperwork you and they signed...and/or the loan documentation - legally, you might have justification that this is your car and the one you agreed to buy....(not sure if there is something that protects the dealer on this type of mistake or not)..if the VIN isn't a match - then you do have the wrong car - options as you mention include return/purchase the extra. Of course, being the "good guy" might be the best approach as you were not expecting the EX-L - but just the EX.....either way sounds like you might have some options!!

Didn't happen to me, in fact the reverse as I used the internet quote to justify my final price on my Accord. In cancelling your order, did you get your deposit back? I would still pursue the internet quote if there are no other similiar deals in your area - dealing with either the internet manager or highest level of management within the dealership.....Dealer might be able to claim that the internet quote was no longer valid as it was for a car already sold to someone else, a specific car, color, base at that amount but has extras added to total cost, etc...if they don't deal with you and assuming you can get the 22,708 somewhere else - either settle with them with a hopefully a better price on a new order or go to the other dealer and give the losing dealer some grief by sending letters/calls to those that could make their life a little difficult....

Thanks for the info, Lionfan! Now I have another Q: How was the AAA buying program? It hadn't even occurred to me to utylize AAA. See, that's why I love these forums. Anyway...overall experience? Pros/cons? How did you go about getting the extended warranty thrown in?

You can also try the costco/bjs buying program. I heard that the dealerships show the real price for which they bought and they tell us how much profit they are marking on top of that. I learnt it after I bought the car....

2006 Accord EX-L 4cyl Price Paid in Kansas City by twreckxs

Just purchased 2006 Accord EX-L, 4cyl, auto for $22806, including destination, with trunk tray, mud flaps, and all season mats from Frank Ancona Honda in Olathe, KS via their internet service. Admin fee of $189 and taxes extra. Internet salesman was very nice, communicated professionally and respectful. They accepted a very good offer for my trade-in as well. In and out in 1 hour with no hassles. Overall a very pleasant experience. I would highly recommend AVOIDING O'Neill Honda and Jay Wolfe Honda. Their sales staff and sales managers still resort to the kind of tactics that made this site so necessary in the first place. Some businesses will never learn. Thanks to everyone who preceded us with their experiences.

lionfan1,
How much do you think a 6year/100k mile warranty with 100 dollar deductible might cost outside(I am assuming that yours is not honda warranty) - best guess ?

Did you say that you decided not to buy because they werent being discounted????

Well, if you couldnt afford it, I understand, not everyone can. Why not just drop down to a LX and save a few hundred bucks.

But if you didnt buy because Honda doesnt devalue their vehicles by putting on rebates and other garbage, then you need to do more research.
