"......Don't forget the price savings of I-4 vs. V-6, including the mileage (I got 37mpg on a flat highway trip last week, my highest ever). The V-6 is rated for 20/29 mpg, versus 24/34 for the I-4 Auto (26/34 for the manual transmission)......."

...while both the V-6 and I4 are great engines, I wouldn't sell the six short on fuel efficiency.

(See my Gila Bend to Yuma, AZ eye-popping MPG in a previous post covering my two-week Reserve duty last October)

...my V-6 6M coupe has better numbers than my late, lamented '69 CorVette....technology on the march......

best, ez.....

You are correct, I saw a prior year "Accord V6" today.

BTW, Honda added a moonroof in 2006 LX V6. So I guess now one has to peek inside the car to check for leather.

Any idea why the LX-V6 are few and far between?

Even at the dealership I saw that they had tens of EX-V6 and just 3-4 LX-V6 in stock.

They just aren't that popular.. Once you start moving up the price scale for the bigger engine, most people want the other goodies to go along with that..

I'm surprised your dealer had three of them... Most dealers have one or two at the most..

The new Camry doesn't look that bad. I think it keeps the usual bland and unoffensive lines of its predecessors. What will be the kicker are the new engines in the Camry -- the 4-banger reported to make about 180hp and the V6 putting out 268hp, as in the Avalon. The upgrade in power and possibly tightening up the chassis will make the Camry a lot more competitive. I sure hope this will be reason enough to get Honda to give out some incentives.

Still better looking than the 06 Accord - and I'm a Honda guy. I think the 06 'restyle' is weak. The car, altho mechanically the best in its class, is almost an eyesore. I think the Camry is great looking. I'll wager the new Altima won't be hurting in the looks department.

C'mon Honda. Your redesign of the Civic is awesome. The Accord needs help fast. Its losing huge market share. Sales were down 30% in December!

check out boch in norwood - I almost bought an odyssey there but ended up buying a sienna from the boch dealer next to it.

based on looking at some dealers on the internet bernardi in natick seems to carry a large inventory as well (I'm looking into an EX V6 MT and they had more than any other I checked out on the lot)

Make sure that when shopping and talking to the car dealer you don't call it a V-4; it is an inline 4 (I-4). If you call it a V-4, the dealer may think he can pull a fast one on you since you aren't fully aware of car details.

Good luck on your pricing! I got my I-4 AT for $2,100 off of sticker price, or $21,700 (mine was an upper level EX, though).

Honda Accord EX-L (auto/non-nav) Prices by doinalright2

Hello All, This is my 1st time doing this forum thing and thanks in advance for reading my question.

I'm lookn at an 06 Accord EX-L w/4 cyl, automatic...tossing around the idea of nav or not. I reside in central NC and there are 5 dealers within 30 minutes of High Point. The two I've found are both the new carbon bronze color...one is non-nav/blk interior & nav. w/ivory.

There have been postings of 1K & 2K below invoice
where is the profit at these NJ dealers? NY?

The NC dealers have a GLUT of Accords....I just wonder what happens when the new Camry is released? However, I'm in an urgent situation...my pay source is cash (chk from my CU) and no trade (I want it to be as simple as possible) My 01 Jetta Turbo w/ 101K miles have served me well and I need something bigger. The Passat & Jetta are not the value I perceive.

Any guidance?
