Replying to: mclarry (Nov 19, 2009 11:50 am) thats great. i dont know why i wasnt able to get them lower but it wasnt for lack of trying. i emailed a bunch of dealers saying i would pay 21,650, nobody bit. I had one dealer price it at 21.8 and when i went to buy she said she made a mistake and the price was 22.4. she had like 5 in stock! she let me walk. maybe somebody on here has some insight bc it left me kind of befuddled. one tip, once you get them to offer a price you like ask them to throw in some stuff. trunk liner, all weather floor mats, wheel locks etc. they seemed to go for that pretty easy. **************************** I had a similar experience buying an EX-L. At first they said that they would be able to bring down the price more. After about 30 minutes of haggling, they let me walk. Possibly because there was only one EX-L left, and they thought they could get a better price. Tips- don't share what color or interior you're wanting. giving them those specifics will basically give them more leverage (they tend to gauge, play by your emotion - they want to see how badly you want that car). Tell them that you dont know what colors you want. Get the price nailed down first! Also, check online inventory. If you want an EX, go to the dealer that has a glut of those. They tend to negotiate better if they have too many of a kind. Just my $0.02 |

| Looking to buy a 2010 Hondo Accord Coupe - LX - S. How does 22,000 before tax sound? Thanks | |
Is Etching part of the deal for Honda? I went to four different dealers in NJ and all want etching fee ranging from 200-300.

Replying to: blend1 (Nov 21, 2009 6:36 pm) This is a dealer add on- nothing more. Etching is good if you live in an area with high auto theft rates, otherwise I'd say skip it. If Jersey dealers aren't willing to work with you on this - don't be afraid to get some online quotes from other Honda dealers in neighboring states. Good luck. |
