thats great. i dont know why i wasnt able to get them lower but it wasnt for lack of trying. i emailed a bunch of dealers saying i would pay 21,650, nobody bit. I had one dealer price it at 21.8 and when i went to buy she said she made a mistake and the price was 22.4. she had like 5 in stock! she let me walk. maybe somebody on here has some insight bc it left me kind of befuddled.

one tip, once you get them to offer a price you like ask them to throw in some stuff. trunk liner, all weather floor mats, wheel locks etc. they seemed to go for that pretty easy.
****************************
I had a similar experience buying an EX-L. At first they said that they would be able to bring down the price more. After about 30 minutes of haggling, they let me walk. Possibly because there was only one EX-L left, and they thought they could get a better price.

Tips- don't share what color or interior you're wanting. giving them those specifics will basically give them more leverage (they tend to gauge, play by your emotion - they want to see how badly you want that car). Tell them that you dont know what colors you want. Get the price nailed down first! Also, check online inventory. If you want an EX, go to the dealer that has a glut of those. They tend to negotiate better if they have too many of a kind. Just my $0.02

Is Etching part of the deal for Honda? I went to four different dealers in NJ and all want etching fee ranging from 200-300.

Damn, Nebraska is different from NY state. Dealers here don't collect sales tax and registration, so the $21,000 OTD does not include those, and auto registration is ridiculously pricey.

Once I figured this out and quoted $20,500 (plus tax and registration would be similar to what mclarry paid), they didn't take the offer.

I will wait till the end of the year, and bug them every week with a price of $20,500.

Bought a 2010 Accord LX-S coupe yesterday for $21,500 before tax. It beat my previous estimates of 22,700, 22,400 and 22000. You MUST shop different dealers unless you want to overpay. Good luck.

Etching is not mandatory on the part of American Honda Motor Company, otherwise they would "Etch" all models at the factory.

This is a dealer add on- nothing more. Etching is good if you live in an area with high auto theft rates, otherwise I'd say skip it.

If Jersey dealers aren't willing to work with you on this - don't be afraid to get some online quotes from other Honda dealers in neighboring states. Good luck.

The best price I can get so far is $29,500, for a 2010 Accord EX-L V-6 Sdn. w/Nav. What are people's thoughts on this. I feel I should be able to get it lower than that.

I got a Lease Quote yesterday for a 2010 Accord Sdn. EX-L V-6 w/Nav. They quoted me a 36 mo. Lease w/ 12,000 miles/yr. 0 money down, and $362.00 per month. I did not get a quote for 15,000 miles, as we never drive over 12K.
