I think that's the problem with some of these fun-shaped cars-- fun to look at, but a pain to drive. mouse409 many of these things dont even work moderator_kh We rented (not by choice) the PT Cruiser last weekend, and it was no fun to drive. moderator_kh Uphill was pretty much a nightmare. mouse409 really ? I was thinkin I like one of thoes moderator_kh mouse, it handles like... well, like it looks like it would handle, and it's got absolutely no power. mouse409 no power huh ? moderator_kh And the interior, well... things are in inconvenient places. mouse409 nice to look at but impractible moderator_kh For example, the rear window power switches are in the middle of the back, on the floor. mouse409 handy moderator_kh If you have 3 in the back, the person in the middle can easily roll down the windows... with his or her FEET. moderator_kh I did it inadvertently all the time. mouse409 I guess I dont want one any more moderator_kh Did you just like them because of the exterior look? mouse409 sounds like a fun car, van, truck or whatever it is mouse409 ya I like the old cars moderator_kh ha ha... yeah, what class of car is it anyway? moderator_kh I like old cars too, but *real* old cars. Those that are kept in good shape look really great. mouse409 dont know, looks like a mini van mouse409 me too, got rid of a 51 Chevy to get our Porsche and now thats gone moderator_kh I see they are coming out with some new colors for the 2001 Cougar. moderator_kh Oh man! I love the old Chevys. mouse409 it was a hardtop also mouse409 with a 350 v8 moderator_kh I had a friend in school who had a red & white '57 Chevy. Gas prices. moderator_kh It just didn't used to be an issue! mouse409 we get about 26 in the city with the cougar mouse409 so were not crying too much moderator_kh No, that's not bad at all. mouse409 got 31 up to Lime Rock with it mouse409 course Im an old man moderator_kh My Jetta is averaging about 25, which is OK, but hard after having my Protege that got 30+ mpg all the time. moderator_kh Do you have the V6? mouse409 oh ya v6 MTX moderator_kh That's really good mileage then. Maybe I am just driving too fast mouse409 I dont really drive that slow moderator_kh Then my car just eats too much gas. Do you use premium gas? mouse409 no.. found out it wasent worth it moderator_kh Yeah, I wondered about that. The handbooks always say you should use premium fuel, but I didn't notice a difference in gas mileage, and no knocking. mouse409 kept track of it with different grades and no difference mouse409 if the book says premium then thats what you should use mouse409 the book is a good guide moderator_kh Well, it actually says use fuel with a minimum anti-knock of 87, which is just regular. moderator_kh But for best performance, they recommend higher. mouse409 Owners Manual - I mean moderator_kh One thing I really liked to see in my manual was that it doesn't need an oil change but about every 10K miles. moderator_kh So long, Jiffy Lube. mouse409 keep track of it with different grades and see what happens moderator_kh Yeah, I will try the premium fuel when gas goes down about 10 cents/gallon!
