Audi A4, Sedan
May 24, 2013 (6:33 pm)
The 2014 (model year) A4 can now be ordered. They seem to have upped the standard features since it gets replaced at the end of 2014, at least in Europe. On paper, they claim a little more HP (9), though many people think Audi is correcting their understated claim.
As best I know the prices have not yet been released. Any idea on pricing for an A4Q Premium and Premium + (no other options) ? The dealership is offering $500 over invoice; take it or leave it.
Any idea of the actual wholesale price (or holdbacks, incentives/volume targets) ?
I have an offer for a 2013 A4Q, Ibis, P with Heated Seats, Conv and Lighting, for $35.5k. They claim it’s a loss for them; I am far from convinced but failed to squeeze any more $$$ out of them.
What do you think – 2013 P at a good price (steep depreciation ahead)or go with the 2014 P+ ?
Thanks in advance

Just purchased 2013 A4Q with similar pkg with phantom black pearl color in NV. Your invoice price should be around $36.2k (Audi currently offer Preferred Equipment Credit, please check Audi website for special offer). So dealer offer for $35.5k is below invoice. I took advantage of loyalty $1k and conquest $1k to further reduce the price below invoice. Also, took advantage of 1.9% financing up to 66 mo.
Few thoughts, with end of mo approaching, there could be more incentive. I am a loyal BMW-3 owner for 10 years and Audi has done a tremendous job to convert my brand loyalty. I purchased Q5 for my wife few mo ago after considering X3 and I decided on A4 after considering 2013 BMW 3. I must say it is not all about price but features compare side by side, Audi offers more. I could not find any BMW below $40k with light pkg and the new Audi light pkg is so nice. Good Luck!!

Well I can't agree with you more on the BMW to Audi comparison. Especially if you want all wheel drive. I have owned 3 A4s and this one is by far the best, but I have to say BMW is rely the one pushing Audi. To me there is a big difference between the 2013 and 2012 A4 and I attribute that to the 2012 BMW 3 series.
The interior trim on the A4 is significantly better on the 2013 vs 2012. Eg real leather vs leatherette. Improved gps and maps. More thoughtful button function and nicer use of aluminum trim.
That being said, if the BMW was within $1000 for the same features I would but the BMW. But it isn't. One thing I noticed is the BMW 3 series stock stereo is garbage whereas the Audi is nice. Although I would still spring for the B & O because that one is I credible for stock.
Anyway. Congrats on your new car. Enjoy it.

Thanks ydol. When we ordered (have a deposit on a 2013 P, but hedging on an in-production 2014 P+) there was no Audi preferred equipment credit. Will watch the web to see if any other discounts pop up by the end of the month. Sadly, don't think the 2014 P+ will get any credits.

I would suggest to push for getting additional conquest rebate ($1k) by mentioning that you seriously considering BMW 3-Series. I found it helpful during negotiation. Also, I encourage to test drive the BMW-3. That's what I did before getting my A4 and Q5 (test drove X3). The BMW dealer currently offers invoice + 500 and there is $750 loyalty rebate so that is comparable to your current offer.
#2050 of 2072 Does everything seem fair here?

Is there anywhere I can save some money? It's a A4 quattro Premium with Convenience and Lighting I think.

Do your homework and find out what the invoice is on the car. Tell them you will pay that and not a penny above. Tell them to shove the doc fee and Lic fee. That should save you 50.00-100.00 a month.
#2052 of 2072 Really liked the 2014 A4

I was smitten with the A4 I saw yesterday but I'm wondering if I'm going to have to pay a premium on a lease because it's just out?
I was quoted under 400 a month for a Mercedes C300 with minimal $$ down. C300 MSRPs higher than the A4 but the dealer was talking about 2000 down and "under 600 a month"for 36 months. Which seems absurd.
Anyone get a 2014 yet?

I noticed the 2014 being advertised. It seems just like the 2013 but with an extra 9 HP. Are there other changes?
I have a 2013 and I must say it's definitely a step up from the 2009 - 2012 versions in terms of interior quality.
If there is another Audi dealer in your city you may try the other one. Last year when I was in the market buying I performed my analysis and told one dealer what I wanted to pay. They came back $6k higher....the $6k includes difference in sales price and trade in value.
I didn't respond, went to the other dealer and offered the same deal. They accepted within $300 of my original offer.
Before you buy, have you considered the new Q50? It seems pretty sweet and you will get more reliability. don't get me wrong - I love my 2013 and I will probably be an Audi driver for life; it just depends on what they come out with next.

Oh yeah, and last year when I bought my 2013 I got it at invoice + a great deal on my trade in and it had just come out days before.
If they know you are serious about buying, they should deal with you.
