They forgot to put in the Mobil 1 Synthetic I brought.....apart from that, they did a perfect job, I had a loaner for a whole day even when they're working on mine for only 1 hr, they hand washed the car, drove out the loaner for me (not just hand me the loaner key), drove out mine when I'm there to pick it up, called me when the service was done, fast in and out counter service and it's a shame because they will score a perfect score on my sheet if they remembered to put in the synthetic I brought. I ended up bringing my car over again and have them put the synthetic in and change the filter, a 40-mile roundtrip drive. Oh by the way the dealer is Schaumburg Audi in Chicagoland. Billy |

My experience with Jim Ellis Audi here in Atlanta has been a very positive one. The salesman was very knowledgeable and courteous. The service department manager, Lee Wertz, has been very professional and personable. The same goes for Lee's staff as well. I would recommend buying an Audi from Jim Ellis.

| I am considering buying an A4 with auto trans, leather seats, celebration package, cold weather package and ebony pearl color. Dealer has offered to sell it to me for $33,262 (incl dest, tax and DMV fee is extra). Is this a fair price? | |

Ravi-- Is this a 2.8? I'm assuming it is because of the leather seats and the price you quoted. Sounds pretty good if it is. If you can give me the MSRP, we can determine the invoice price to see how much you'd be paying above that price. A price with tax included makes it difficult to determine how good a deal it is because taxes vary by location. Also, in what general area are you located? ...prices vary considerably in different parts of the country. People are getting excellent deals on 2.8's right now at the end of the model year and it sounds like you're one of them! *thumbs up* --'rocco |

Thanks for the response. Sorry for the confusion, the price I wrote did NOT include sales tax (which is 6% in New Jersey, where I am). Anyway, through the Costco Auto Program, I got a better price for the same car, $900 over invoice price. The car includes: 2.8 A4 Quattro w/ auto transmission Leather Seats Celebration and Cold Weather Packages Ebony Pearl paint With destination charge, the invoice price is $31,899. The MSRP is $35,535. My price is $32,799. Seems reasonable to me, based on the edmunds TMV price and the carsdirect.com price that I got on-line. -Ravi |

| Had my eyes on the A4 1.8T for a while now. Sales folks were very helpful and think I could have gotten a good deal on a 2001.5 A4. However, the service dept (who I would be dealing with in the future) was less than impressive when trying to ask questions, etc. Tried in person (basically ignored me) and tried on the phone (could NEVER get a service rep on the line). If that was what the future held, sorry, no way! You spend far more time with the service folks than you ever would with salesman....too bad, only Audi dealer around so they lost a sale..... | |

| Ordered a new 2001 1.8T in mid-May. Sales rep said that I need to wait about 12 weeks because they need to order it from Germany and will call me when the car arrives the dealer lot. So I wait, wait and wait unit last week. I called the dealership and they said the car arrived the port a day ago and should be ready to pick up in the next few day once it arrives the dealer lot. Can anyone tell me what paper work they need to do and how long it takes. I just can't wait any more! | |

| I am a former owner of a 97 a4 1.8t quattro. The dealers were great, but i got to know them too well. I appreciate getting a free loaner, but how many trips to the dealer do i need to make? My a4 had numerous problems, including a clutch that often rendered the car undrivable, poor brakes, a faulty oxygen sensor that made the car's redline feel about 3500 rpms and a transmission noise that could never be identified. I now own a tt coupe. The ''check engine'' light stays on. The car has been to the dealer five times in the past two months. They order a part, say the problem is fixed and the light goes back on the next day. Like the a4, the car loses power after 3000-3500 rpm and the dealer still can't fix the problem. Now, the cd player doesn't work and my directionals are out. I am very disappointed with this car and despite the friendly service department, I don't think i will buy an audi again. After all, how can i enjoy the german engineering, smooth lines and solid structure when the car is always at the dealer? I now have a wrx sedan that i can drive every day. Sure, it is not as solid as the audi, but it is more fun to drive and the engine sounds and feels great. | |

I leased a 2001 S4 last year. The car is awesome, quick, sure footed and a joy to drive. The service on the other hand is plain non-existent. No post sale follow up whatsoever. It takes 4 attempts to get through to the service department, 6 weeks to get an appointment and no loaner because I bought the car at another dealership. This one (Pray Audi tried the bait and switch). Am I being unrealistic, or am I dealing with the wrong people. Is anyone else having this experience? |

I've had a few problems with my new '01.5 A4T with only 5k on the car (see problems/solutions for details). Service manager was excellent, but I felt the mechanical "service" was a little shotty. Took it in for a rear end "squeek" and a transmission "clunk", for lack of better way of explaining it. Told the Serv. Man. about both problems. Dropped off in a.m., they drove me to work 30 miles away. Called 3 hrs later to say the feel they know what was causing problems. They pick me up in early afternoon and take me back to dealership. I pick up car and didn't even drive out of the lot and could hear the clunk was gone but the "squeek" was still loud and apparent. I turned around and parked in front of the service dept. The serv. man was at my door before I could even get out of the car, asking if there was still a problem (most serv. man. would hide behind the counter if they saw you come back!). He proceeded to drive the car himself, pick up the mechanic that had been working on it and they both drove the car. Both concluded a rear rocker problem; needs to get replaced. It was obvious they NEVER drove the car to test that the problem was COMPLETELY solved. I now have to waste another day dealing with it. I appreciate them being forthright, but the job should have been done right the first time. No loaner was given, either. Here I sit, two weeks later, still waiting for my parts.....and wondering whether I made the right "car' choice. Dealership: International Autos, Milw. WI JB |
