This price over invoice should be the same for the 09 or 10 models. 2) try to refuse to pay the "dealer administrative fee"...the price you negotiated is the price you're willing to pay over invoice. Doesn't matter if it's preprinted on the form....tell them that your bottom line before taxes, title and registration is the price you negotatiated in step 1. 3) Then discuss how much marketing incentive money there is and deduct it from the dea you just negotiatedl. By doing it this way you don't let them to blow smoke by using the marketing incentive to let you think that you're getting a good discount.

| I have an offer for the A4 Avant Premium Plus in black for $35,350 plus tax and tags. What do you think? Also can the ipod adapter be installed by the dealership? I have another offer for a premium for $34K even but I really would like the ipod adapter. Thanks. | |

Spent six plus hours at the dealership, but well worth it. I'm too tired to go grab the papers, but here's the skinny: Car: 2009 White A4 2.0T Quattro Packages/Options: Premium Plus Package, Navigation package, Exhaust Tips, Audi Care Qualified for: Audi Loyalty Incentive (-1500), Clunkers (-4500) Cash Price OTD (after discounts applied): 33,800 There was a clerical error where the dealership double-discounted the clunker. Though the signed contract says 30,040.00 (and is currently all I paid on the check), I do feel somewhat bad to not call myself out, considering their great service and effort to meet my budget. I will likely credit them back the missing balance, and hope for some good karma. A free car cover or MMI cable wouldn't hurt either. For those still hunting for good '09 deals, I suggest moving quick. I had a hellish time finding inventory with the colors/options I wanted. Can anyone assess if I did a good job? It's my first new car, I hope I did well.

Replying to: alldubdee (Jul 29, 2009 11:53 pm) My local dealer offered to sell me a 2009 A4 for $800 over cost and that's with no bargaining on my part. So....$38400+800 profit = $39,200 less all the incentive money puts me at $30,700 for your car. There's probably some administrative fee so I'll add in another $300 bringing it to $31000 plus tax. but I don't have all the facts (manual/auto, accurate admin fee, etc. Adjust my calcs for your situation and then you'll know if you got a good deal or not. Next time, ask here FIRST....

Replying to: ghstudio (Jul 30, 2009 8:47 am) Out of curiosity, where are you located, and what specific car was being offered? At 31K + 11% ttl, your deal would put me at 34,410, just about in line with what I got. My A4 is an automatic, and according to Edmunds, a 6-speed quattro does not have the 2500 marketing support (I would have loved the 6-speed, but to pay ~2000 more seemed a bit ridiculous). Thanks for the heads up, I definitely referred to this thread while working out my price. It took me forever to find a dealer who would entertain the Edmunds TMV ("their numbers are inaccurate"

How much is marketing money for this model/combo? The posts here seem to mention $2500, but Edmunds says $2000. According to Edmunds, invoice is $33375, and TMV is $31647, which is more in line with $2000, i.e. about $300 profit. Thanks. By the way, this is a 2009. Also, is the promotion of AFS paying for 2 months still on? Thanks a lot.
