Hi, everyone. As you've probably noticed, we have been trying to refine the discussions into more narrowly focussed topics. Our objective is twofold. We want to make it easier for people seeking specific information about their vehicles to find it easily and without having to wade through hundreds or thousands of postings. To those ends, we will be shutting down the general make/model discussions and work exclusively with specific issues. This requires us to populate the make/model subsections with relevant, interesting and timely topics. Rather than having the hosts simply create boilerplate topics for each make/model, we feel that you, the owner, the make/model enthusiast and the prospective buyer can best judge what those topics should be. You can help by adding a discussion (it's easy!) or suggesting one here. To add a discussion, click on the last link in the "You are here" line at the top of this page. That will take you to the topic page for this make/model. Review the list of topics and click on the "Add discussion" link when you've decided what topic you'd like to add. Follow the directions and you're done! Feel free to add more than one. Just avoid duplicating existing topics and try not to make it TOO specific! Your help and continued participation in the Forums is greatly appreciated! Thanks. |

The Defender got a pretty good update for 2007. Anyone like to speculate whether Defender can come back to the U.S. after Land Rover is sold by Ford? I'm tired of specialist dealers selling used Defenders at inflated prices. These vehicles are relatively cheap on the second hand market in the UK, but selling at Porsche prices here.

I drive a defender 110. I haul around three boys and currently have them in car seats. Is it possible to buy headrests or a new set of seats with head restraints for a 1999 defender? I have seen the new 2007 with a middle row of seats that have head rests. Is it possible to buy just the seats and install them?

Hey There, I'm new to forums so I'm not to sure how they work. I just bought a 94 D90 and love it but could use a little more power. Does anyone make bolt on power mods i.e. - headers/cold air intakes/throttle body spacers/superchargers/etc. I'm also looking for a surrey top, winch, and Emu springs. Also can you fit 15" wheels on the D90 - 33/12.50 r15 tires are the best all around off/on road tires I've used because of the soft side wall for grip when you air-down and on-road ride quality. Any help would be appreciated. Thanx, JP Simons thepeeg

If I bought an '07 right from the Solihull Factory I could get it for about $30-40k, but then I'd have to get it to meet emissions and US safety standards. Used ones typically list about that same price and are 10+ years older. |

Hey Gang- I just received a personal email response back from Gary Temple this morning (Mr. Temple is President of Jaguar Land Rover North America) and here are his words (or perhaps those of his secretary) in regards to a reintroduction of the Defender: Mr. Flickenschild, thank you for the note. I wish you happy motoring with your Land Rover and thank you for being an enthusiast and loyal customer for the Land Rover brand. We all would like to see the Defender return in our model line up for the North America market and will continue to look at our options with that model and viability for the NA market. Gary L. Temple President Jaguar Land Rover North America That being said, it appears that the return of the Defender is still plausible and not out of the minds of the "gate keepers" here in North America. I'd rather spend $30-40k on a new Defender with low mileage and no rust rather than forking over the same or more for someone else's rusty high mileage Defender which we still all love and admire.
