inukeu2's story and mine just keep getting more similar by the post. I'm in Michigan, and neither of the dealers in my area had a manual 525 in stock (nor did they for almost all of the 4 months that I shopped). They eventually both found one (actually the same one) on the dock with the options that I was looking. That was the last day of May. I was about to put my deposit down at one dealership (on a price that was $800 above invoice), when the other dealership beat that price (about $1000 below invoice). When I signed the papers in the first week of June, we hadn't learned about the factory to dealer rebates. I found out about it on the day that I took delivery. Nonetheless, I was satisfied with the price, and I wasn't willing to kibosh the whole deal at 8:30 pm when I was taking delivery. For me, it just wasn't worth it to try to sqeeze another grand out of it after the financing and sales papers were signed. Remember, the 525 rebate is only $3500, not $4500. I had negotiated with dealerships as far away as Fla and Mass, and had just missed out on another car by doing some last minute negotiating. I wasn't willing to lose this car. In the end, I got the car that I wanted for a price better than I expected. Had I waited another week, I may have gotten a better price or I may have lost the car. But I'm lovin' my 5er and not regretting anything (except the fact that I couldn't afford a 530!). I got the car from Erhard BMW. Very good sales experience. Good luck. |

The website mentions 1k rebate for 5 series, "As a BMW Car Club Member, you MAY BE eligible to receive the following allowance based on the purchase or lease of a new or Certified Pre-Owned BMW through an authorized BMW center." Does anyone know the details or got the rebate? How does it work? Thanks! |

drdw... You have to be a member on record for MORE than 1 year. So if you are currently not a member and join today, you'd have to wait 12 months before being eligible. There are different amounts for various new cars (e.g., $500 3 Series, $1,000 5 Series) and $500 for all CPO cars. |

| Is the reward transferable? For example, if my friend is a member for more than a year, can he transfer the reward to me? I'm new to BMW, can you tell me the web site which lists the reward? Thx. | |
| Nope, the reward is not transferable. Go to www.bmwcca.org for more information. | |
| Become a life member. Then you'll never have to worry about the rebate issue in the future. You pay up front once and never worry about dues again. The parts discounts, rebate, magazine, etc. more than pay for it. | |
