no, I disagree. I have bought two Kia's. One is a 1999 Kia Sephia sedan and I traded that Kia in on a 2001 Kia Sportage 4x4. Both have been fine vehicles and my Sportage 4x4 now has 111,300 miles on it and it's running like a champ.

Just follow your owner's guide and service schedule carefully. You don't have to get service done by a Kia dealer but you do need to save all of your car's service receipts. Your Kia will be a fine rig.

BTW-I sat in a 2001 Kia Rio Cinco, red to be exact, on the day I bought my Sportage 4x4. I liked it and really like the design of the hatchwagon. Sort of a predecessor to the Rio5. I wanted to test drive the '01 Rio Cinco but my wife wanted the Pepper Red Sportage 4x4 we had already spotted. It was not hard to want the Sportage, too, but I liked that Rio Cinco and, you know, reliability-wise I think it's held up very, very well for people.

You can't beat the Long-Haul Warranty. I also think that Kia has a great body-design team, among the best in the world. Great body designs. Enjoy your Rio Cinco and be proud of it!

Hey,KIA salesman by tomsr1

I bought an 03 Sorrento a year ago with 39000 miles on it.
Budget car sales said the 03 had a transferable 10/100
warranty. Is this true?If it is not then I will unload
it at 60000 miles. So far the things that have been fixed
under warranty are 1.lift struts for hatch replaced 2.
drivers door seal replace,3.left headlight and both
brake lights,4.Diode to fix dome light and door locks
being erratic. This is all minor BS and it is better
than the Explorer or Outback I have owned.$50 does not
fill it up and that's an ouch!

Never owned a Kia but I have owned a Hyundai. Believe they're the same.

If I remember the power train warranty ends at 60,000 miles on transfers. All of the things you mention are non-power train related and would end at 60K anyway (do I remember this correctly, it's been almost 2 years).

Question-- Why would you be unloading a high depreciation car because of the warranty if you'd had good luck with it? My Malibu Maxx stops at 36 thou. and I'm expecting to run it to 150.

Crappy mileage is another thing, and do think these are gas hogs.

BTW-- why are you posting this on the Rio boards?
