Steering wheel vibration by jaxrad

I own a Cayenne 2004 19" wheels Pirelli tires. For the last 3 months I have dealt with an annoying steering wheel vibration, that initially I blamed the new tires . The dealer has tried to fix it 3 times now and does not go away. There are several technical bulletins from Porsche describing this issue , but no fix on site yet. I am about to apply for the Florida lemon law.

Where did you here that the facelift will not happen until the 2008 model year? Edmunds.com is reporting that it will happen in the spring of 2006. I am interested in this because I am planning to purchase a Cayenne in the next week or two, but would rather wait if there is going to be a body change and power increase in the engines. If anyone has anymore info on changes to the Cayenne please let me know. Thanks.

I heard about this on some other sites and the folks there seem to be very well versed in all things Porsche. If you do a google for cayenne facelift you should find some of the references. I don't think I can post other sites here but they all start with "www.renn" and then have other words added such as list.com, team.com, tech.org.

Good luck with the Cayenne and for what it's worth the facelift seems to be relatively minor in terms of cosmetics around the grill, headlights and taillights. The excitement seems to be around the power trains with improved HP across the board.

I have a '05 Cayenne with the 6 speed manual trans and LOVE IT ! I now have 18,000 miles and it is just over a year old. I have had only a few minor problems with the C, that have been readily resolved by the dealer. Like you, I have limited resources and enjoy the stick. Sure the horsepower is less than the S, but I like, and prefer, the response of the manual versus the auto trans.

Were you able to get your bluetooth enabled device to interface with your Cayenne?

jaxrad, i have the same annoying steering vibe. i've been told this is normal due to my 19s pirelli. i kept the tires until they were worn 18.5k. i was hoping the vibe will go away with new tires but it did not. i've tried road force bal and wheel match. the problem keeps coming back.

please post how your application for lemon law goes. i'm in california and thinking of applying for arbitration.

Cayenne Brakes by tturek

I have a Cayenne V-6. Has anyone experienced low mileage brake rotor replacement issues. Please give details. I discovered the rotors and brakes are smaller on this model compared to the Cayenne V8 model with only a small vehicle weight difference of 145 lbs. My experience is front rotors cannot be turned and rotors and brakes ware out at approximately 20,000 miles. Rear last a little longer. Cost of replacements $800 to $900 for front and same cost for rear.

Next week I have an appointment for last repair attempt. If they can not fix it , I can either return the car or get a new one. I'll keep you post it. In the mean time review the warranty booklet, because every state is different.
