Dave,

Wireless is great, isn't it? You may also want to set up MAC address filtering as well as disable SSID broadcast.

Yeah, really like the wireless. Already disabled SSID braoadcast. I could set up MAC filtering but I'm not going to worry about. Someone would have to be physically on my property to connect to the wireless router. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Just got mine fixed up, working nicely now, with WEP enabled too.

Now I can post even if the primary PC is occupied.

Soon as I said something my D-link card goes belly up. I replaced it with a Linksys card and now it works fine.

The router in Linksys, so maybe it's just happier when the hardware matches?

Linksys router and card here for over a year. Relatively few problems.

Mike: Do you use WEP with some sort of encrypted key at least? MAC addresses are editable, ya know...

juice: There shouldn't be an issue. I have a Lynksis router but use a D-Link card.

Dave: Have you tried seeing how far out your signal goes? Or maybe you're lucky enough to have a huge lot that stretches far beyond WiFi limits.

Dunno, but my Linksys card has been reliable. Who knows, may be some idiosyncrasy with my particular laptop.
