I need a new battery and took my 2004 Aztek to Wal-Mart. They wouldn't do it because the battery is below the electrical box. If I take it to the dealership, they want $150 for the battery and installation. What has anyone else done? Is there a way to remove the battery without hurting the electrical box? Thank you! Karen |

Hi All, I see a few Aztek owners here. I have an 2001, nothing to fancy, would have love to have the Rally. I loved the funky design since it's release and bought one 2 1/2 years ago. I've never had any problems with mine and I just recently added remote starter too it. CaliberChic Wagons Host |

Replying to: KarenS (Apr 17, 2001 7:51 am) My name is Gary. My wife and I purchased the second Aztek our dealer was able to obtain when they showed up in 2000. It's a FWD red GT version. We still own it and it has 136,000 miles on it. We like our Az (although I still take a lot of ribbing from friends about the looks) and it has held up reasonably well (better than I expected for a GM product.) We have had a number of issues over the years (air conditioner coil, blown head gasket, and then that traction/ABS system that we are still struggling with - see other threads). We just purchased a new Toyota Sienna and plan to give the Az to my teenage son. Thanks for providing this forum to discuss our "unusual" vehicles! -Gary.

Replying to: greighn (May 26, 2007 5:04 am) I live in the mountians and I drove it through this canyon which had a lot of winding road and I was going 50 mph in places that I would have normally put on my breaks. This car handled supurbly and the ride was smooth. The only thing that I was curious about is what kind of Aztek this is because I know that there is a GT,a Rally sport, and just the Aztek. If anyone would also like to post and brag about their Aztek I would like to hear it since I was looking at other posts on the forum and there seems to be a lot of negatives.
