My cousin lives near Carson Toyota and he took a look at the Red Sequoia SR5 4x2 that was an advertised internet special. He told me that it did not have the alloy wheel package and no side impact air bags as advertised. They wanted about $1200 over invoice for it.

I have a few more dealers to negotiate with and should have my new Sequioa by the end of month.

Sorry, I could not write back sooner with info, so I'll keep this short and read back all the posts and comment later. As for the Tax Free holiday, It's a no go for now. Senator Patty Murray for WA is the author and for now appears dead. The numbers still show the economy is hurting and will try to put it through again. May be December? I don't know. Washing DC has one, but with limitations. ie: <$100. Blah.

I bought a ltd. 4 x 2 last w/end for $39,000 from a local dealer. Had moonroof, side air bags, up-graded CD player, spoiler etc.Prices seemed to be in that 39k-40k. region..carsdirect were a bit cheaper, but it meant a trip to Longo in LA. I was partial as this is my nearest dealer. My only sweat is the bridgestone tyres, which I am not crazy about.

I picked my Sequoia on 11/30/01 and have been loving it. Really smooth and shifts just like the Lexus line of cars!

Anyway, price was $500 over dealer invoice, end of story. Any way the SUV is equiped +$500. Hope this helps anyone out there planning to pick up one of these. Good luck.

Just bought a silver 2WD 2002 Sequoia Limited with all Toyota Options except moon roof. Has side air bags, premium stereo, rear spoiler, daytime running lights. Also has these type dealer things--floor mats, glass etching, cargo nets & cover, "Extra Mile" option, night vision mirror, road hazard warranty, door edge guards & the like. MSRP was $42,500 I bought it for $39,000. Think I got an average deal, I can live with it and the dealer has to eat too-- ;-}

Sounds like a nice truck. Welcome. To feel good about the deal is most important--it was well below MSRP.
