Found out yesterday that the 2004 SR5 is available with the preferred package (PM) in Northen California but not SoCal. Leather seats are important to my wife so I am willing to make the drive from Ventura County. Does anyone know of a good Toyata dealership in Northern California? If so, what is your experience with their prices? Please help. |

I'm in DC - what dealer did you buy from? Was this a brand new 2004? (i.e. not a demo). Sounds like you got a great deal. |

I see lots of experiences posted here related to $100 over invoice or $500 over invoice. But what is invoice. I define invoice as only Base Model Invoice + Options Invoice Then there are items below the line such as: Destination + Advertising + Wholesale Financing + Hold Back I understand destination and advertising - but isn't the hold back built into the base/option manufacturer's invoice price? The dealer has told me that invoice is everything listed above and that my offer of $500 over is added after all the extras (destination, etc.) And they did not tell me about the extras until I agreed to $500 over invoice. I think they are double dipping? Any thoughts or clarifications? |

I was looking for GREEN, RED or BULE SR5 with almost all options that LIMITED has (except one's I can not get on SR5). I went to most of the dealers in NOVA. Finally I found this one (BLUE MARLIN) at Koons Toyota in Vienna (On Rte 7 in Tysons). It is brand new with 6 mile on it. Toyota shipped it to the dealer on Nov 19, 2003 and I bought it on Nov 29, 03. If you Need more info, email dhira_98 |

IMO - the destination charge is part of invoice - but all the other stuff is not. Many will claim that these other fees must be paid by dealer - so they should be included. The wholesale financing and hold back are not part of invoice. Tell this dealer to shove it and find one that at least pretends to be honest. |

2004 RWD SR5 FLORIDA AG(x17 whls),CQ,DR,EJ,GY,KE,LF,SR,LA80(PIO LTHR), TOYOTA MOP-N-GLOW etc,& Del'y. $36K out the door plus state sales tax and dmv tag & title fees. Dealer tried to slide in prep "fee" of $400 on top of the $36K, but I caught it and had it absorbed into the $36K. I don't know how much that is above invoice. If I listen to the dlr he is going into the poorhouse tomorrow. (yeah right!!). If I listen to another dlr, its $750 over invoice. I suspect its more like $1K to $1.2K above invoice. I was on a short time crunch and there aren't too many of this configuration availalbe in the colors I wanted (White/oak)in the time frame, so I wasn't able to play one against the other as much. I'm pretty happy that I got what I wanted, (or I will be when it arrives in about a week) from the Port. Incidently the 36K is the same price that Carsdirect.com says they can get it for. But whether that includes dealer prep fee or not I don't know. |
