My low beams seem to be bothering oncoming traffic. One out of every 30 to 40 cars flash there high beams at me although I have my low beams on. I have been back to the dealer to have them check the lights out. The dealer says everything is fine but Iím not so sure. The low beams do seem very bright to me and they seem to aim up much higher and brighter than my 2003 Chevy pickup. The low beams also light up the interior of the cars coming from the other direction.
Has anybody else noticed this on there Jeeps?

Did you ever find an answer to this problem. My jeep is in the shop with almost exactly the same problems...

Mine also made the noise even after having the blend doors replaced with the stronger assembly under warranty. Per the dealer nothing more they can do. I lubed the hinges of the doors accessible thru the glove box. That quieted the noise a lot.

Dec 09, 2006 (4:11 pm)
I just purchased a brand new 2006 JGC Hemi and from day one it makes a noise that sounds like I'm a plane dropping my landing gear for touchdown. I took it into the dealer and they told me my surfboard racks were making the noise. After taking them off the noise still returned. The noise is very random. It's outside the vehicle, sounds like its coming from the back of the car. It occurs at all speeds and usually occurs after the car has been idle for awhile. Once the noise starts it will not cease until I come to a complete stop. I've been told I might have a rear differential problem, but the dealer assured me the differential was not to blame. Any thoughts?

I too had the same problem(same noise). My only advice is to sell that piece of crap. Mine was in the shop 10 different times and they couldn't figure it out. They even put a brand new rear-end in it(didn't help). My JGC had more hours in the shop than on the road. Chrysler is horrible.
After I sold it I heard it might have been the MDS causing the noise. Good luck!

Hi, I am having the same problem with my 1999 JGC (heat blows on both the driver and passenger side then passenger side blows cold), were you able to locate the source of the problem? How was it resolved and what did it cost you?

Well that's not too encouraging. My car has been in twice MDS? What is that? I heard it might be the rear differential, although the dealer claims to have already checked it out.

This is a problem well known to Jeep & think that they did a recall in the States - no such luck in the UK. My dealer tried to say that the whole computer system needed to be replaced...
Problem lies just behind the glovebox & it's the Blower Motor Relay / Resistor Motor. Part costs about £100. The part numbers are below:
2000 WJ Grand Cherokee
s24 Aircon & Heating
Service Repair Kit 05102406AA

Your situation sounds all to familiar. They started off by saying it was the rear differential in mine. It checked out fine. Then they moved on to saying it was something with the exhaust. The most recent was "It needs a new rear-end". After a new rear end and many days in the shop it still made that noise. That's when I knew they were just testing my patience. They knew I would give up sooner or later. That was the only thing they were right about... cause I sold it a week ago! MDS is short for Multi Displacement System. You should do some research on it.

I have an 08 JGC Ltd and had the "howling" noise also. After 3 trips to the dealer they replaced the front differential and it has been fine for the last 2K miles.
I was determined to keep taking it back to the dealer until it was fixed. I'm retired, so I had plenty of time to keep after them. I think they do try to wear your patience thin though.
