A/c on Kia Sedona 2004 by mombee

HI.. my a/c just went out. Spent $160. at first place, and it was blowing nothing but hot air. Next stop was $1000. and now the a/c works sometimes. It used to blow cold on setting number 2, and now I have to run it at setting #4 to get the same flow... it is so noisy we can't visit or hear radio. WE also had that motorcycle sound in the beginning and got that fixed under warranty. They knew exactly what we were talking about on that repair. Car has 117K miles on it now. Had much trouble with brake pedal pulsating. That took 3 times to get repaired and they claimed it was a $1200. part to repair it finally. Also, since the a/c repair, the car seems to not have any power when I put the gas pedal down. Don't know if it's connected or not. Car has to go back in to get the a/c issues resolved. OTHER than that, keeping the car is easier than buying another car. Good luck.

2002 Sedona upholstery by mikie_likes_it

New to this forum, as I have just inherited an '02 w/109K from my brother. I haven't reviewed these pages to see if there is feedback on the several 'little' problems the van is experiencing, including the SRS warning light being on all the time.

What I need right now is upholstery and padding replacement for the driver's seat, which has the 8-way electric adjustment. Anybody out there got suggestions?

Thanks.

Mike - welcome to the forum. It was found in the earlier model Sedonas that the switch in the seat belt buckle was the culpret in triggering the SRS airbag light. Seems the passenger seat belt buckle is usually the prblem, but have the codes scanned to be sure. This was the case in my 02 Sedona.

Hi Mike, I had the same SRS airbag light stays on problem. Hope Micheal above can let us know what was wrong with the buckle and how was it fixed.

As for your upholstrey repair, I would suggest to by a used seat such as this as an example:

As for the bumpy ride we've talked about in the earlier threads, after I replaced the struts and an alignment adjusted in Sears Auto the ride was still rough. Guess what, I redo the alignment at a local sharp where the mechanic took an hr and have it ride vibration free as smooth as my Honda Odyssey when new.

hope this helps,
Bruce

Does anyone know how the cylinders are numbered? Which plugwires are where?Where are the sparkplugs located, under the coil packs?
I have a diagnostic readout that says #4 is misfiring. Where is number four?
I've looked for a service manual for our 2005 kia sedona, and there doesn't seem to be any around!?

Hello, I have been having so much trouble with my A/C too Mine is also a 2004 Kia Sedona...I have taken my car in to the Dealership many times fior A/c problems but the latest has been that my car is not blowing cold air it's really hot I took it in in May and they told me there is nothing wrong with it....huh, well if there is nothing wrong why is it sooo damn hot?? I live in Florida it's been like 97 degrees outside..you can literrally not breathe in there...so I took it to another shop spend almost $400 and he told me it's the c- block??? He said it was replaced but as I started driving it it went right back to blowing hot Air....I also had a 2003 Kia Sedona which I Lemon lawed....because of A/C problems it sounded like an Airplane ready for take off.....no joke....I went to the dealership and they said they put some insulation around it it should be better now and I asked them why they cannot fix theproblem instead of covering it up.....I don't know what else to do.....???

The cylinders are usually numbered as any other v6 engines. However, you may locate the 4th firing pin on the distributor which is labeled and then trace the wire to the spark plug.

It sounds like leaking freon. If your car had been worked on some one might have undone the lines and didn't reinstall it properly. For example, to replace the alternator if not raising the engine, you would have to disconnect the ac lines to get to it. After replacing the alternator you would have to reconnect the ac lines and recharge the freon.

As for the noise, it could have been the fan, compressor bearing, belts, loosen mounting of something. Problem usually be able to spot by careful inspection under the hood.

I just got a Kia sedona LX 2003 and I have a problem with a nasty smell coming from the vents. It only last for a short time after the van started, but the smell is bad. Any one have the solution to this, please, let us know. Thanks.
