This is what I paid today by vadar75

It's odd that I ask a question then post what I have paid right after, anyway, this is how much I paid for 2WD V6 Silver Highlander.

It came with those usual configuration.

AW Aluminum Wheels
CQ Conviniece Package
SR Power Sunroof w/Tilt and Sunshade
HE Preferred Package
PG Privacy Glass
DR Roof Rack System
TO Towing Prep. Package
+ Floor Carpet
+ Simulated Molded Burlwood Dash Applique

Last Two Items that I don't know the code.

Anyway, I got this for $27125 + Doc. fee + tax,
MSRP was $29603 for this, so about $2500 off.
I couldn't get $3000 off, but still, this is around what Edmunds.com proposed on its TMV, and under Carsdirect.com price.
I bought this at Robinson Toyota of Jackson, TN

I believe I got pretty good deal on this, so what do you think?

$99 over invoice! by tex_avery

Big thanks to raprider for his post in re Carson Toyota. I called/emailed them on Saturday about the Internet special they were running. All 4WD (non-limited) Highlanders in stock are selling for $99 over invoice.

Yesterday, we picked up our new Highlander. Configuration as follows:
Black/Ivory V6 AWD
DR, SR, TO, UQ, AG, CQ, HE, CF
Total, including destination price and advertising fee, was $27673.

I got a fantastic deal, and the Fleet Sales department at Carson Toyota was terrific. No pressure to add anything on, the vehicle was prepped and waiting for us when we arrived on Sunday morning. I highly recommend Dianne and Tony. They were a breeze to deal with.

If anyone out there in Southern California is on the fence right now, this is a sweet deal. They still have a couple AWD Highlanders left, and the price was still posted on their website this morning (4/22). Dianne told me she probably wouldn't be running this deal past Sunday (4/21), so give them a call if you want to get in on this deal...

Southeast toyota pricing - NEED HELP PLEASE! by rlambertinga

Here's my situation:

I am trying to get a 2WD limited V6 with leather. Here is the invoice breakdown

BASE 26,159
Destination 510
additional freight
  charges, Southeast 25
Administration charge
  Southeast Toyota 565

LA-Leather 856
                       -----
Total invoice 28,115

I have talked to someone from Autobytel who located a car that he can get with just leather, but he quoted 28,400 (Different from above figures - WHY?) for the invoice price and said he could sell it for 28,900. Given that we are willing to wait and factory order, is it unreasonable to think that we could bet the above car for invoice or 1% over given the holdback. Is the southeast toyo administrative charge of 565.00 legit or negotiable? Anyone else in GA with a breakdown of their purchase and suggested dealers please email Richellelalltel.net

Look, there's no harm in asking. The dealers are used to low prices from Priceline.

Tennesse pricing by rlambertinga

As state earlier, we are trying to get a 2wd limited with just leather ( we can wait). It has occured to me that we could purchase in Chattanooga and possiblly avoid the extra southeast charges that apply here in GA. For those who have bought in Tennessee: are there other charges besides the destination charge. Please be specific. Is there a specific dealer that you enjoyed working with in the Chattanooga area? Are there negatives for buying in Tennessee when we live in GA that I have not thought of?

Thanks for your e-mail. According to the PL website, 2Q requires CF. I'll get them aftermarket if necessary.

Today visited Glen Toyota. The salesman who sold me Corolla 8 years ago was no longer there, so I talked to someone else. The guy was nice. He even let me take the HL for a test drive by myself. Honestly, I didn't expect him to in NYC vicinity. But he made several statements that raised red flags:

1. "We only sell what we receive from Toyota. And they all come in the same configuration. No ordering of any kind." Silly me, I didn't ask him about dealer trade or preferencing. Factory order is out of the question for me anyway.

2. "All HLs have preferred package installed." I don't want PP, but if this is correct, than I'll have to take it.

3. "VSC is installed only on Limited HL." Please, tell me this is not true.

4. "All Limited HLs come with leather." Not sure if I want leather.

To his credit, he let me test drive the car after I told him that I had to decide whether VSC is important enough to step up to Limited and pay 3K more. Probably I'll give this guy first shot at my business before going elsewhere.

Ray, how much is the usual doc fee in Northern NJ?

A lot of what the salesman says is true. I have a customer waiting for a special order Highlander. He submitted his request in October and Toyota has not built the car yet.

Visit www.toyota.com and see how the car is built for your region. You'll have to settle on some options you may not want in order to get those you do, or sacrifice some to avoid others. Toyota is miserable to work with on special orders, taking at least 4 months on a Highlander.

The doc fee in New Jersey is around $200. In New York and Pennsylvania it's less, $20-$30 in New York and around $50 in Pennsylvania.

Sounds like you've found a decent salesman. You should give him the opportunity to sell you a Highlander before anyone else.

Good luck!

Hi,

I am planning on ordering a Limited version Highlander with *cloth seats*, vehicle skid control, and side air bags. I've heard a wide range of estimated delivery times. Does anyone on the board have a good idea how long this order might take?

Thanks.

Howdy,
Just ordered a 4WD Highlander with almost everything on it. Leather, tow package, heated seats, etc. Paid Dealer Invoice plus $300. The price came out at $3,463 less than MSRP. Bought it in Omaha, Nebraska. The dealer says they are running this special until the end of April.
