My experience at the end of December is that dealers were willing to give up basically all of their holdback and financial reserve to get their 08s off the lot. Shouldn't be too much different now. If I were you I would counter with at least $942 less than the quote. It's already 2009, that vehicle has a year of depreciation on it and it's getting harder to sell by the day.

Thanks for the advice!

Do most people feel that a new 2008 at this point has had the same amount of depreciation as a used 2008 with only a few thousand miles. i.e. should you negotiate it like its a used vehicle

Also has anyone had any success negotiating the TDA or is this advertising fee generally not reimbursed to dealers?

DOes that number include the rebate of $2500. If so I think you can still negotiate down some. If it does not include the rebate, then it is a great deal

I think you should be able to negotiate a better dealer closer to 27K (this is based on my new purchase of 29,900 on sport w/leather and similar options other than the dvd).. - or for that they should throw in leather. if not try to negotiate a tow hitch or something. not sure where you live but checkout woburn foreign motors if in the northeast very easy to deal with and very competitive pricing..

iski,

Can you provide more details on the deal you got?

Sounds like what I am looking for. I'm thinking about an AWD Sport w/leather, nav, dual climate, and cold weather pack.

Also, for all users, I have been shown "demo" units, how much should the dealer be willing to discount a vehicle which has a few thousand miles on it? And should that be on top of any rebates for new car, or do you forfeit new car rebates on demos?

I'm really hoping to find an 08 with the options listed above for around $28K, am I being realistic?

Thanks in advance.

I drove a Sport "Waveline" 08 FWD with cloth, third row seat, sunroof, 6-disc changer w/bluetooth, power rear door, tow package and it was $26900 plus TTL.
He said that they could add heated leather for $1300 more.

I will see how long it sits out there but it did seem like a good price. What do you guys think?

Sounds like a great deal. Which dealer did you get this from? Also, are you leasing or buying and can you give us an idea of payments? Thanks.

08 Highlander by dmjf19

Hi

I got this deal yesterday in Northern NJ. 08 Highlander Limited MSRP $40570. Invoice $36267. The dealer said they would sell it $500 over invoice minus $3500 in incentives which would bring the price to $33267.

Is this a good deal? I would like to move on it because most of the 2008s in decent colors are just about gone and I don't want to be stuck with a crazy blue color.

Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.

Thanks
