Leasing by Lego74

I am curious what people think is a good lease rate on a Limited with about $3K of extra options, which in NC would make the Cap Cost just about $28,700. I would prefer to buy it outright, but given the fact that I am really hard on cars, will most likely be right at 15K miles each year and it is being used a family transport with 2 young kids, it just makes more sense to lease at this point. At any rate, I was wondering what kind of money factor I would be looking at and what the depreciation should be for a 3 or 4 year lease. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When they delivered the car did they drive it, or did they have it on a trailer?

We did make a trip to Jim Barkley Toyota and I want to thank everyone on this forum that led us to that dealership. We were very pleased with our deal. Ty was our salesman and he was great. This was definitely the no stress, best way to purchase a car. The price was well worth our trip. We gained a short vacation to Asheville and received the Highlander that we love. We have been researching prices for over 6-7 months and are so glad that we waited for this deal. I'd recommend this dealership to anyone! Thanks again!

My car was in the same delivery as Richmondguy's and they drove them up to Virginia and Maryland . . . which I actually preferred; I didn't mind the extra mileage (which would also have been on there if I had driven down to NC and drive the car back) and I have had bad experiences with cars being damaged on trailers. Plus, the driver specifically mentioned he didn't use cruise control since you are not supposed to have a consistent speed for too long under 1000 miles, so that made me feel like they were taking extra care to make sure the car arrived safely and in good health.

They drove it and also like DjDave's reply, they said that they didn't use cruise control because the car was so new. They recommended that we start using it after 1000 miles or so.

The car was delivered clean and well taken care of plus the dealership followed up with a phone call a few days later asking if everything was to my satisfaction.

I'm looking for a new 2008 Base Highlander in the SE region. Does anyone know if any dealers will be getting any more of these? They are scarce due to the $5000 rebate.

Also, has anyone bought a base model? If so, what did you pay?

If you can deal with a "used" one, check out the classifieds on www.kbb.com. You could save yourself a bundle and still buy through a dealer.

Not a good deal. I can get a 2008 Sport with sunroof, JBL 6-cd/bluetooth/satellite stereo, auto front/rear air, conv package, power rear door, homelink, backup camera for $26200 before TTL. This is in the SE region with the $5000 rebate. There are no 2WD base models left in the SE regions. There are several 4WD base models left if you want one of those.

Oldcamry,

Thanks a lot for your response, actually the quote before TTL is $24,586 (Tax $1229, Title $279, L: $86), We have only $2000 rebate in MA. I'm still negociating with the dealer. According to your price, so the reasonable price be arround $23,000 for 2WD base models in MA?

By the way, can I buy car from SE region (I'm in MA, there is only $2000 rebate in MA region)?
