Have you tried to return the Acadia? Some dealers may take a 'return' with in 7 days and very low mileage. You could even dream up some excuse; doesn't fit in the garage, hurts my wife's back, etc...

Just a thought, if it helps, as I almost returned our Corolla for a Mini in '04 and the Toyota dealer was ready do it (this was after 4 days). We ended up keeping the Corolla after the BMW dealer didn't seem to want to deal with the Mini (closest Mini dealer was 90 miles away).

Why don't you go with the Mazda CX-9. It has more room behind the third row (and it splits) than the HL, and it is more car-like than the Acadia.

Thank you for your suggestion, but the registration is done online so it's now considered a used car. I guess I could try selling it on my own. Unfortunately, the Dept. of Motor Vehicles told me that it could take up to 2 months to receive the title in which I need to make the sale. However, I have traded in a car before I received the title for it wasn't a problem. My guess is that most dealers won't want to sit on a car without a title. Maybe I'll call around some more (Toyota dealers or otherwise) to see if they would do something like that. I did that with a Honda dealer and they actually came to my home to pick up the title to my trade when I called to tell them it came in the mail. So I guess I'll have to drive around in the Acadia for a couple months.

Yes, the CX-9 was high on my list, but what was kind of like the deal breaker for me was the second row seat did not have a captain's chairs configuration so it would be easier to get to third row unlike the HL where you just take the center piece out of the second row and you have an instant "pass-through" aisle to get to the third row. And yes, I did have a concern about cargo space behind the third row.

Hopefully I'll find something I truly like especially if I have to take "a beating" on trading in such a new car.

I'm going to be passing through MN and may want to follow in your footsteps. Can you share what dealership you went to and how you approached it (site visit, cold call, e-mail)? Thanks!
