2009 Civic LX by les38117

on 6/6/09 we bought a new 2009 Civic LX sedan with AT for $16390, including all dealer fees, but not including sales tax. It took about 10 minutes to negotiate. The dealer started at $16800 citing the $1000 incentive, we countered and they accepted. They tried tacking on an additional $150 mandatory processing fee, but backed down when we said we would not pay this.

I mean no disrespect and I am not looking to begin any arguments about what car stereo is better, I'm sure everyone is much to busy to waste their time on such a trivial subject. That being said:

There are "Mickey Mouse" units out there, however most of the ones I looked at blew the honda factory units out of the water and for a quarter of the price.
If the deciding factor for me was "does the unit accept voice commands" (which the kenwood I picked out does, by the way) i would get a $250 dollar garmin nuvi as opposed to a $2000 Factory unit.
$1000 is alot to spend to get voice commands, no?

Like I said, I like my $1000 better when its in my bank account than Honda's, and I can have a better unit installed.

...Just my opinion

I totally disagree wth you about the aftermarket unit being "better" and so do the guys who sell and install them but, really this belongs in another forum.

I live in PA outside Philadelphia area. Got a quote at Sussman Honda for 17660 OTD including tax and tags. I think this is a pretty good deal. Another dealer gave me 17.8 in June but it went up to 18.4 in July. Sussman kept their price. I'm thinking I should jump on this. I'd appreciate some opinion on this.

What is the Sales Tax in Pennsylvania? Its 7% in NJ.

My fees include

199 docs
 7.50 tires
299 NJ registration fee.

w/200 for a remote starter I am walking out the door at 18k on the nose. I may try haggling a bit more but the experience has been quite pleasant so who knows...

Could you tell me where I could go to find the past history of Honda to dealer incentives? Thanks.

I''m just curious as to why you would care?

Heck, I sure don't remember and we sure don't keep a record of this.

What happened in the past isn't going to affect the future.

Knowing the past and current incentives will tell me if my current quotes are where they should be vs my older quotes from last month. It lets me know how much play potential there is in my most recent quotes. I'm sure you knew this, Mr. Honda dealer
