Hi, I have a friend who is leaving the country. So he wants to get rid of his Honda Civic 09 sedan which is on lease. The car is in good condition 27k kilometres. The car is on lease till the end of 2010 with a monthly payment of $260. Can someone tell me if this is a good deal to take?? and also how much do i have to pay to change the leasing agreement from his name to mine? and the approximate residue value of the till the end of the lease?? Thank you very much.

Which dealer have you visited in the bay area? I was just at the Sunnyvale Honda dealer and he showed me a invoice of $17969 and was not willing to negotiate. Do you know what is true invoice price? I have seen $16818 from Edmund,

Have you tried to go through the internet sales?

Civics have a 60% residual value after 36 months. Can't answer other questions because some important info is missing from your question, like:
* Is the lease contract with Honda Financial or a third party leasing company?
* What is the residual value written on the lease contract?
* How many months ago did the lease initiate ?
* How many miles (or kilometer, if in Canada) are allowed per year?
* Any charges associated with returning the vehicle at the end of lease (see contract)
* Do you intend to return the vehicle at the end of lease or buy it?

Hi fclwang,

Yes, I got the Internet car price from 16500 ~ 17100 (incl dest fee) from several Bay Area Honda dealers. I suggests you get the Internet quotes, print it out and negotiate with dealers.

Thank you, bibilili.

I assume your price is not OTD? The dealers seem very firm with their internet price, is that what you found? Have you purchased your car?

I live in the Los Angeles area and recently bought a used 2008 Civic EX-L with about 15,000 miles on it for $14,995 plus ttl. It also came with door edge moldings, dark tinted windows and splash guards. Was that a good deal for the price i paid and for what kind of car it is?

Also, it came with the remains of the original warranty which is now 3 years, 21,000 miles.

Hi

I bought the Honda Civic EX-L Sedan Auto in SF Bay area and paid $19188 (Includes Destination charges) + Taxes and License.

Hope this helps someone trying to get an idea.

Didn't try to bargain much but realized most dealers would give around this price.

Thanks

I think you could do a little better. I bought an 09 civic EX 4d auto in May for about $19,400 and had the chance to go for 19,200, but that was further away. Just keep bargaining and negotiating till you get some of them to drop. I've seen people get this trim for even lower than what I got. Is your car a sedan? coupe? auto? manual?

P.S. When I bought my car, it was at the end of the month and the deals may have been a little better. It all depends

09 Civic LX Coupe AT by fitisgo

Last week I purchased a new 09 Civic coupe LX with auto trans from Williamson Honda in Lincoln, NE. The vehicle MSRP was $18,625 and selling price was $16,300. This price included Honda splash guards installed, which is worth about an extra $100. No documentation fee or other fees by the dealer. The only other costs are NE 7% sales tax and assorted property tax/fees assessed by the NE Dept of Motor Vehicles when I register it.

Am highly satisfied with the vehicle, I also own two 08 Honda Fits, an 03 CR-V, and an 03 Civic sedan. I have bought 3 new Hondas from this dealer in the last 18 months.

I am live in the Omaha, NE area and there are 3 Honda dealers in my vicinity. However, the dealer in Lincoln (60 miles away) is much better in terms of the buying experience and service after the sale. Williamson Honda - highly recommended!
