I just want to thank everyone who posts their purchase prices here! My wife's '97 Accord started having many problems this year. I had to replace lots of hardware in the Accord - I used Craigslist mechanic (after I purchased the parts from Kragen). Then yesterday I discovered that we had to replace another part in the car. Too much time and money were spent on fixing this up. After getting the "blessing" from my wife, I got a new car for her (Urban Titanium). I had already done some research last month (March) and came pretty close to purchasing one but found out at the last minute the color wasn't available. Personally, I prefer the 3rd generation Prius and when I buy my car I'm going to wait little bit more for the plug ins to arrive. Anyway its Civic LX-S sedan out the door price in Placer County, CA for $18,100 with floor mats and trunk tray thrown in with full tank of gas. Sales price 16,480.10 Document 55.00 Sales tax 1,364.15 License Fee 107.00 Registration 85.00 Ca tire fee 8.75 Total $18,100.00 I also traded-in my 1997 Accord SE auto 4 dr for $3,000. Finally, they also told me that I could get Civic LX (urban titanium) for 17,400.00 out the door. |

Hi! I've been browsing the forum trying to get an idea of what people are paying, but it's a bit confusing because the numbers aren't always clear as to what they include. I've been negotiating with a dealership, I'm about to go make this purchase, so if anyone reads this in the next hour, please let me know what you think! 2009 Honda Civic EX Manual tranny (starts $800 less on invoice than AT's) Negotiated price: $16943 (includes $670 dest. fee) This doesn't include the taxes, doc fee, ttl. That amount comes to approx $1471. So my total OTD price is approx. $18419. The extras on the car include the splashguards (can buy online for $53) moonroof visor (buy online for $89) and some paint protection which I heard is a joke anyway...I didn't want any of that stuff because I was going to buy online, but since it's on the car, that's ok as long as they aren't charging $1000 for that package! So based on the $16942 before ttl, is that a good deal or a great deal? Appreciate your insight! I'm near Atlanta, GA btw. Thanks! L.

Replying to: pjtip (Apr 17, 2009 3:23 pm) Thanks. Just returned from Pohanka picking up a LX-S. They sold the EX in polished metal mettalic that I wanted but I also liked the black interior in LX-S. BTW: The salesman said some people did not like the wheels on the EX but licked on LX-S. If you are like that let me know, I will swap because I like the wheels on the EX. Thanks. |

Replying to: christol (Apr 17, 2009 3:29 pm) Well, went and bought the car! Pick it up tomorrow, can't wait. On the way, I called another dealer I had visited to look at a 2007 Civic, told him I was on my way to buy a new one, and wanted to see if he was interested in giving me a better price. He talked to the sales manager and said that was a great price, they couldn't beat it (or didn't want to?) He did say if they tried to sneak in an extra $1000 in "stuff" to come back and see him and he'd work out a deal. Anyway, I feel comfortable I got a good deal. Note to anyone in the Atlanta area who is looking for a Civic - I bought mine at Gwinnett Place Honda - they have a ton of civics in stock. I also learned my MT civic has been on the lot since September!!! Hopefully that won't cause any issues. So if you are shopping, I'm sure that there are others on that lot that have been there for awhile, and you could use that as a good negotiation tool. I didn't learn this until everything was done and I was looking at the manual, and found the date when the tech signed it after inspection when it first came in. That is almost 6 months! Anyway, good luck everyone! L. |

| The 09 EX comes with new design wheels that I heard has received mixed reactions. I personally like it, but lools like some people like the old wheel style. Anyway, I had to downgrade to LX-S because the dealer sold the color of my choice on the EX. If there is someone in the Washington, DC to Richmond surrounding area who bought an 09 EX and do not like the wheels, please let me know. I am willing to swap my wheels that came on my LX-S. Thanks. | |
