Nice price! I paid about $750 more in September and my Civic didn't come with the "L" at the tail end.

I picked up my Urban Titanium Metallic EX-L manual with navi at the end of December with an out-the-door price (incl. docs & fees) for $22.5K. Love it so far - even handles decently in the snow so far, but then again, I have been driving in snow since I learned to drive 15 years ago (it's always more the driver and tires than the car).

Here is a recent internet quote I received with the cost of dealer installed options:

LX-S Sedan: $17,447.09
Window Tint: $299
Protection Package: $395
TTL: 11366.56

Total: $19,497.65

This is more reasonable than I have seen lately. I've seen Honda Cars of Katy and John Eagle in Houston. Honda Cars of Katy is hard to deal with and negotiate. Have you found any better deals than the above?

Thank you for the reply. I got several quotes from local dealerships,
John Eagle gave me 18,761.22 OTD price, but without dealer installed options.

Rusell & Smith 18,941 OTD

Gillman 18,972 OTD

I am looking for a price around 18,500 OTD with everything, hope there are takers.

Hi Everyone,

My very 1st post here but thought I would provide info since this forum has been so helpful to me in making my own purchase.

Bought the following from a SOCAL dealer today:

2009 Civic Si Coupe - Black

- no summer tires
- 7 miles on odometer
- protection package (splash guards, rubber trunk tray???, wheel locks, etc...)
- no navigation

MSRP: $22,575

Price: $19,750 (destination included) + TTL.

I thought it was a good deal or good enough for me to follow through on it.

09 Civic LX 4DR AT OTD 17K northern VA by sparkyb

I'm working on an OTD price of 17K, (cash) which includes freight, appearance package and TTL. (3% sales tax). I think this would be a good deal. Right now I'm in the 17500 range. I'm told by friends and relatives that I could do better given the economy. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Also trying to see if I should look for an 08, I see some dealers still have inventory.

Thanks,
Ron

Hi,

I would say that $17K OTD is doable for that type of vehicle. I was working via email with 5 different dealers and the lowest started out with $16500 (DEST included); after about a week, my best offer was down to $16,100. With your 3% compared to 7.75% where I live, $16,100 + TTL should come out to about 17K or so. Anyways, only works if you have a bunch of dealers to work with. Some would tell me flat out, "I don't know why that dealer will sell you the car just to lose money....come back and talk to us if it doesn't work out" In the end, I bought the Si but was met with similar tactics. I was told that $20,200 for the Si I bought would result in dealer losing money. In the end, I bought one for $19,750 but it took a week of emails with various dealers.

Sincerely

Thanks.

I'm going to try the email shopping with various dealers in the DC/MD/VA area.
I don't mind driving within a 100 mile radius to get the best deal. I may just go with the EX model since I had a 2003 EX that I was very happy with. I'm going to take a test drive but after that I'm don't think I need to be spending time driving to different dealers until I've honed on a final OTD price.

Thanks,
Ron
